Hi all.  As with any MP based game, it can certainly help to receive tips and tricks from other players.  If you are interested, please add any helpful information to this thread.  I played for a few hours last night and so have a ways to go before I have more advice to give.  To start with here are some tips:

Stick Together - This is very helpful in any squad based MP game.  By spreading out to different locations the chances of success are greatly diminshed.  Staying near each other you can backup your squadmates immediately.  Squad mentality is greater than the lone wolf mentality when it comes to MP.

Revive - This is a great feature, and the revive timing is very quick.  As above, do your best to stick together.  The closer you are to your squad, the sooner they can revive you vice versa.  Also, pay attention to the game as it does tell you when a squadmate is down.  If you wait too long the countdown timer will beat you, or a Cerberus agent will stomp you to death.

Roll - Dive rolling is a great way to move quickly and minimize the number of hits you take.  I learned this watching a player (Kirk McAllister) last night after the rest of us were down.  By rolling a lot he avoided enemy fire and was able to finish the wave.  Most impressive.

Cover - As with SP this is a must with MP.  Use cover as much as possible.

Angles - As you go through the successive waves, you will eventually find agents coming at you from many directions.  Do your best to pay attention to the directions/s fire is coming from.  Sometimes it is best to change your position and find a better cover spot.

Reload (often!) - Ensure you reload often to ensure you do not run out of shots mid-firefight.

Ammo Crates - Learn the locations of the crates so you can zip to one when running low on ammo.  If you choose a good spot you can be close to ammo and also cover.  This can make a huge difference in defeating a wave when your squadmates are down.

Quick kill with the engineer if an enemy surprises you off a corner

My best tips are for the Infiltrator (only class I used) invest in Cloak's recharge and "able to use one ability before being decloacked". It pretty much made me a death god.

In the middle of battle, I can run past most enemies cloacked, get to my target, cryoblast him, and then get near cover, shot him with the sniper rifle (resulting in his death and my decloak) then either run away or enter cover till your cloak is recharged and then do it again.

If your sniping, your cloak allows you to aim without being shot at most of the time, and with cryo, you can freeze a target in place and 1 shot without a head shot..

Also, cryo and cloak don't work on Atlas or Phantoms, so for them I switch to my alt weapon (whatever it is). then:

For Atlas, lower their shields then pour grenades on them and hope for the best

For Phantoms, stay the hell away, they one hit even if your cloaked and are immune to cryoblast and take a stupidly high number of shots to kill.

Mostly for both of them, my strategy is try and ignore them, take out the enemies you can, and leave them to the soldiers.

and if anyone gets put down, run in, heal and then use stealth to get away, if you stealth in, normally you get unstealthed while being near whatever situation just killed them, but mainly, try and decide if it's worth the risk to save them, or a better bet to try and finish the wave and bring them back then

and btw, I'm no expert, more of a noob, only have a level 12 Infiltrator, but since I got my rhythm down with my Infiltator, I almost always get to wave 10 (but then always always die, do take what you want from that)

Go with the N7 Destroyer and fully upgrade his missiles and grenade launcher with your choice (they're all good) and upgrade his health and shields rather than melee (stay in the firefight as long as possible). Use a high fire rate yet light weapon (as his turret mode takes care of your lack-of-damage needs) like the Phaeston and start ripping apart the Cerberus, Geth, Reapers, and, yes, even Colectors. God luck, and see you on the battlefield;)
