This issue has been discussed on other sections of the forums since the release of the demo but I guess it has it's official place here.

Ever since the demo was released many players have used the Mass Effect 2 identity codes to import the appearance of their Shepard into the Mass Effect 3 Demo. Results have been varied and especially the apearance of Female characters do not seem to match. As example this is the default female Shepard from Mass Effect 1 and 2 imported to Mass Effect 3:

Note: Importing the default code makes her a blonde, I change her hair colour to red which is why one segment of the code doesn't match.

As is obvious the result isn't quite alike, hence quite a few people are worried that their Shepard won't look as she used to when they start playing ME3. Now we know it's a demo and we're used the code instead of an actual import feature but it still has me worried since the appearance is so different than that of the previous game.

My FemShep face code also doesnt work properly.

Everyone talking that full game import save change this but I cant find nothing official and I have some concerns.

We want to play our Shepards !!!

Hah, you at least get identity codes. Ten out of twelve "for import" characters don't have them showing up on the squad screen.
But I think it won't be based on the identity code system, as there are numerous new options, so the codes are different too. Or at least the identity code system is different, the import being based on the one from ME2 but the "put your code here" option on the new one.
It would take tremendous oversight to miss that issue, so I'm not worried about that much.

My male-shep-code hasn't worked properly either. The eyes+eyebrows were messed up completely.
I don't think it's that bad, though. You can still adjust it, so it looks proper.

It's both because the character creator is stripped down somewhat in the demo and because the character creator handles codes somewhat differently than ME2, it should be better in the full game - and importing should work better as well.

I'd just assume that the new character creator has more options, so the face codes don't match anymore.

Sorry, I want hear that official , "yes, your Shepards look will be just fine in full game". Anything else is just "maybe" :-(

A lot of character creator stuff was cut from the demo. For example, Femshep's eye shadow is non-existent in the demo no matter where you put the slider. It's unlikely that they'd make an eye shadow slider and have nothing there.

There was eye shadow it showed up alright on my darkskin Shep, but it was still really light. I hope BW says something about the CC. I want to know why we can't have defult FemShep's hair.

What features the codes correspond to is different in ME2 compared to ME3, I believe. So using the ME2 codes for ME3 won't get you an exact match. I imagine that when Shep is imported using the actual import function, his/her codes will change to represent the options you had in ME2.

There will be some changes.  Just like there were some changes between ME1 and ME2.  Textures and hair will certainly be different

The plus side is that if they come out looking goofy it should be easier to tweak.  Unlike the toil that was required to stop my import to ME2 wearing clown makeup.

edit: Is this "gameplay"?

I didn't see much of anything show up on my Shepard, but she was fair skinned.  I couldn't care less about default Femshep's hair though, I just want the hair from the NPCs from ME2 without having to mess with the game's save file.

Also seriously concerned about the look of my customized Shepard in ME3 from what I've seen in demo. If the choice was between a new more emotive head rig and preserving the continuity of Shep's appearance the correct choice was the latter not the former.

I am sure it's possible that the character creator and import features in the full version are more extensive than those in the demo but we haven't had any confirmation of this yet.

While not strictly gameplay, I would appreciate some kind of response on this issue. I've played with the same custom Shepard since Christmas Day 2007, and the thought of not being able to finish this journey with "my" Shepard is very disheartening.

Well as it stands right now I cant properly recreate my male Shepard at all, which bugged me to no end. Everytime I play the demo Im like"who is this dude with my sheps voice".
Hopefully we'll have more options but I doubt it.

I had to do some shifting about with my Shepard, the face code did seem to be a bit off. I think the biggest change was the eye area and also the mouth was entirely off, but I tweaked those two options about and it looked very similar to my regular FemShep, although there was just enough difference for me to notice during custscenes.

Edit: That being said, I did like how there seemed to be some more emoting in the characters face. It use to annoy me sometimes in ME2 how frozen my characters faces would look during certain scenes.

We must wait for response, but I really feel thats not possible, creation is set and in mass effect 2 there are no upgrade character creation from demo

I was kinda shocked to see the more pale skin-tones resemble the appearance of vampires in older movies now.

I really, really hope Bioware will fix this issue, or that it won´t be an issue in the final version. The thought of not getting to play as my canon Shepard is very disheartening.. :(

It's funny because Lighting and Texturing actually look far better on ME2 in your comparison.  Not seeing the improvement or the need really.  Seems like it could only result in pissing people off.
