my ME2 facecode turned my femshep into some sort of a mutated ape . I had to mess up with the creator for like 1hr to get things stright again. The slider that had the most impact to get my shep back was "facial structure".

I noticed there are more values per option and so the coding differs. I just hope the import function translates ME2 codes properly into ME3 skiping all the new values ...

Maybe this is a PC problem or something. I used the codes from my ME2 characters and they translated beautifully in the demo. I'm on the PS3 so I have no idea.

Hi everyone, first post!

Back on topic, I really hope we get the OFFICIAL answer from the devs regarding this issue, because yesterday on my PS3 I used my codes on the CC and my malesheps translated perfectly, but my femsheps... it was like I was seeing my femsheps sisters or something like that. Very disappointing.
So if the sliders for the CC changed so much that we shouldn't worry if the codes don't work, etc etc... why my malesheps look exactly like the ones on ME2 and my femsheps look like sh*t?
That's why I'm worried.

Ha, yeah. But that was true even for ME1 characters imported into ME2. Even then, the new graphics made the old faces look sort of... strange, different, unnatural. Like, those faces weren't really real anymore.
I'm afraid something like that happens with ME3, I've managed to keep one of my Shepards the same face (plus some thousand scars due to Renegade choices) from ME1 throughout to ME2 and the difference isn't really that large, because of the scars. But if ME3 graphics make him seem completely unreal I'll be a bit dissapointed.

Apparently, the graphics' style in ME3 are closer to ME1 rather than ME2.

But actually, I like it. Makes you feel the originality of ME1. I think the devs meant it.

I'm having the same issues with my Femshep looking very different. Also, there just simply isn't a normal "red" hair color in the sliders anymore. There's brown, and then there's RED red, like garish dyed red. My Shepard had just like... normal red hair. My Shepard imported as blonde, like the default Shepard in the OP. Why is that color not in the sliders? Hell, I'd even be happy if the hair color of the new default Femshep was in the sliders.

I don't want my Shepard to either have to be a brunette or have Ronald McDonald hair... I just want her to keep looking the same as she did in the previous games. *cries*

On my PS3: I, too have a problem with the lighting and the way my sheps look.

But, however, I do like how the graphics look throughout the demo.

Still no word from Bioware on this, I see. :-(

I'm just hoping for more short hairstyles for Femshep.

I read some months ago....that there were going to be more hairstyles..........nothing in the demo, all of them in my opinion were ugly, plain.....and didn't look realistic....
I'm not gonna say anything about the other features.....I'll resume that I'm completely disappointed....but I'm hoping that it is because it is just a demo......crossing my fingers.....

Hope my imported ME2 femshep is a success....and looks the same....and no changes.....

To some people it doesn't matter.....but I do care how my character looks......mostly when there are so many cut scenes where I have to see my character's face and expressions.....and notice that the other females are much more prettier and realistic than my femshep.

I just want some long hair for dude Shep.

Or at least something that doesn't look like he shaves the side of his head and lets the front grow long >_> It's ridiculous.

A lot of character creator stuff was cut from the demo. For example, Femshep's eye shadow is non-existent in the demo no matter where you put the slider. It's unlikely that they'd make an eye shadow slider and have nothing there.

I personally try to make FemShep with as few eye makeup as possible (if one is fighting Reapers, TIM, Husks and god knows what, I know my priorities won't be MAC), but I do hope they would have some option with making her lips rosy without looking like having smeared a whole tub of vaseline on.

It's there, but barely.

If you mean the drabness is back, then yes.

The three codes I tried didn't do my original ME1/ME2 FemSheps' justice. It was bad. They look like completely different people. They aren't my Shep. It would really distract me if it isn't fixed. The biggest change happened with the following:

I really, really hope Bioware will fix this issue, or that it won´t be an issue in the final version. The thought of not getting to play as my canon Shepard is very disheartening.. :(

I completely agree. Even if I were to redo my Sheps' looks...it just wouldn't be the same. Image IPB

I have the same problem. My Shepard looks nothing like he is supposed to -- all I can tell is that he was probably the preset I worked off of to get my custom shep way back on ME1.

I hope this is strictly an issue with the demo and not the full game. Here's hoping a dev. will comment soon.

I think the style of the new CC/graphics is reminiscent of ME1, but it is definitely not the same. I would love it if the ME1 style were truly brought back, because I found it both softer and more cinematic, and because my Shep looked AWESOME in ME1 - so much more human than in ME2, despite the lower resolution and whatnot. In the ME3 demo, no matter what I do to my main Shep (the only one I made from scratch in the CC) she looks blockheaded, unfinished, and undefined. (And she has dark hair/lashes - I can only imagine what light-haired Sheps look like.) Where did those expressive eyes go? She now has painted on, fuzzy-looking, dead mannequin eyes. No matter which eyebrows she has, they go sort of unibrow at most angles, with her whole forehead looking sort of flat and monolithic.

There's a lot about the new character design I like - her body looks stronger (although I think she's gained a cup size) and I noticed that everyone isn't exactly the same height anymore, that kind of thing. I like the revamped hairstyles, especially the buns/pulled back styles, as they look more natural and less severe. But I miss my old face. I certainly hope the CC in the demo is simply limited and/or unfinished.

It's like watching Indiana Jones 1 and 2, and then come Indie 3 they replace Harrison Ford with Bruce Willis but dub with Ford's voice. Or replace Sigourney Weaver with Glenn Close in Alien 4... mind you, that might have actually made Alien 4 watchable.

Interesting comparison but you're right. Changing the main character so drastically for the final chapter is just weird.

It's a demo, and a lot of content was cut to make room for space, so don't worry your heads over the facr that you couldn't import your face IN A DEMO.

I think that the character import imports the actual mesh/texture data, rather than just the code. The code is shorthand for the slider values. If you look at the save file, the actual face data is a bunch of references to textures and meshes.

And behind this door, ladies and laddies, we have someone who did not read the thread.

Like I said, I'm less concerned about the code matching up and more concerned about the actual lack of certain hair colors.

If these hair colors are missing in the full game as well, I'm going to be forced to play with a Shepard who suddenly has a different hair color. That would be incredibly disappointing!

MAY BE, importing save files and building Shepard from codes works differently.... MAY BE.....
