MAY BE, importing save files and building Shepard from codes works differently.... MAY BE.....

I suspect this will be the case, the thing about writing the codes in is, as I believe someone else has mentioned some of them are mixed up.

I went through each individually and whilst I've not yet noted down which ones have things out of place, there are definitly some that do...

Basically the codes usually read 1-9 then A onwards through to usually the W mark (without O IIRC). Some of the options have letters where numbers should be and numbers later on than where they should be BUT... from what I can recall the actual 'options' haven't moved, thus you end up with the predicament some people have had.

I'll remake Eiko later on where I can highlight this because when entering the code as I had it number for number, letter for letter, it was a bit off, but when I went into the actual lines and did them in 'count' order (from left to right) I got it pretty much close to the original, with just some obvious changes (due to tied back hair being more loose in ME3) and I have to say I like both and will probably say like the new one just a tiny bit more, although still wish her hair was more tied back as it was originally.

Why not just use the default face? It looks a hell lot better than 99% of the inbred freakfaces you people like to create out of custom.

I'd think that is rather obvious. People have been playing with their own Shepard's for two games now. They don't want to switch their main character for the final chapter.

Most likely this.

BW should know what they changed and how to write a "converter" that re-constructs a face that looks quite similar to the one you had in ME1/ME2. After all, they did it already for ME1 -> ME2 with acceptable results.

So I guess codes from ME2 aren't compatible with codes generated by ME3.

I completely agree with what people are saying here. I'm on the PS3, and in ME2, my Shepard had the medium ranged skin, and on ME3, she has really pale skin. I hope this gets fixed, because at the moment, it's reminding me of cartoon characters, not like real people, as they should be looking like. Didn't have this issue at all in ME2/1. Also, the lack of makeup is surreal. I don't know if that's the reason why my femshep looks different or not either.

All I want is for FemShep hair option #2 to look like it does in ME1 and 2. It looks terrible in the demo.

All that "import save to full game will be fine", "this is old demo and have many options is cut off", "importing save and face codes wokring differently"...........This is just speculation.

My opinion is that if really import had make difference against demo character creation BioWare will want to warn players that facecode will not work properly. This way they calm down players because they knew that we get upset about that

Boware silent about that and when look at the topics/post this is big problem for many players so concerns me that they dont even comment this

I dont know is that even possible to recreate the same face from ME2. When I import my shepard from ME1 to ME2 there was some minor change in face of my Shep but it was not that drastically so I dont bother but this time face has major changes

I want Bioware to comment this problem and sorry everyone but no one convince me with yours "probably", "maybe" and everything else that is not official

You know ... There are a lot concerns, this included, that players are expressing about the demo that the devs are distressingly silent on.

This. It's truly awful in 3 and I dread the day I see my beloved shepard wearing it...

It's both because the character creator is stripped down somewhat in the demo and because the character creator handles codes somewhat differently than ME2, it should be better in the full game - and importing should work better as well.

I was thinking this too.  Not only for character customize options.  I think the demo might have a lot of people mislead on the final product.  I could be wrong.  I was happy with the demo, I'm just curious how much will be different on the full game content.

A dev could put this whole mess to bed in thirty seconds. The fact that nobody has makes me very nervous.

How could they not insure that custom Shepards import correctly? Making your own Shepard, and your own story, is the keystone of the entire franchise.

I also would like to know if you have terminator face and take your Shep into editing mode to change the chin or hair or whatever, would the terminator renegade stuff still be there?

My Shep looked pretty close to my ME2 Shep but oddly looked somewhere between ME and ME2. I'm cool with that.

I doubt that there is a simple answer they can give.  I mean, while I hope and expect that importing will work better than copying the face code, they can't really say that your Shepard will import perfectly because there will inevitably be some differences.  You'll surely have new textures and hairstyles, for example.

For me, the important thing is that we can tweak it so if your Shepard comes out looking goofy you can fix it without having to start from scratch.

@masseffect Is there a more natural red hair colour in the full game?

@w_hull Without giving too much away, there will be more options and choices in the full game. #masseffect3

My male Shep's eyes ended up with really dark circles all around. Couldn't tell if they were bulging or sunken. LOL. Either way, I couldn't get the eyes to match my Shepard's at all.

Man I don't know what you guys are on about. I've tried 5 different codes thus far and aside from the eyebrows on ONE of them, they all translated PERFECTLY. Again, I'm on the PS3. Don't know if that makes a difference. I'm certainly not getting any radical changes. Maybe you're using mods or something, and of course they wouldn't translate.

How would confirming that be "giving too much away"? I am sure there's a limit to the information Bioware employees can divulge but issue's like this simply need a word of confirmation. It's not like it would be spoiling the game or plot in any way.

Maybe this is a PC problem or something. I used the codes from my ME2 characters and they translated beautifully in the demo. I'm on the PS3 so I have no idea.

360 here and same result.  I was moving the sliders around, however, and saw that they do not always put the values in order.  That is, progressively from left to right on hair for fem shep would go:  2,4,D,7,3, etc., etc. (not actually, but demonstrative of the behavior).  However, manually entering the code for my femshep (I jotted my facecodes down on my phone's notepad app just in case I needed to rememeber or tweak) resulted in pretty much what I'd had for ME1 and 2.  Good stuff.

Try to import the default Female Shepard (facecode shown in the first post of this topic) on you PS3 version and show us the result here. Perhaps the PC version is different indeed, or perhaps we just have different view on what a perfect transfer is ;).

Exactly! What is there to give away? That there are more hair colors and styles? That importing codes will or won't work? I don't understand it.

I play on the 360 so obviously I don't have any mods. The differences between my characters aren't slight. They are completely different people as far as I am concerned. I don't care if there are minor changes since I can correct it but that isn't the case for me. From what I've read, it is mainly FemSheps that aren't importing correctly anyway.

BTW, if I want to play as default FemShep I will and if I want the FemSheps I've been using since ME1, I should be able to do so. It is a matter of opinion about which FemSheps look better than others. Personally I like mine.
