This issue has been discussed on other sections of the forums since the release of the demo but I guess it has it's official place here.
Ever since the demo was released many players have used the Mass Effect 2 identity codes to import the appearance of their Shepard into the Mass Effect 3 Demo. Results have been varied and especially the apearance of Female characters do not seem to match. As example this is the default female Shepard from Mass Effect 1 and 2 imported to Mass Effect 3:
Note: Importing the default code makes her a blonde, I change her hair colour to red which is why one segment of the code doesn't match.![]()
As is obvious the result isn't quite alike, hence quite a few people are worried that their Shepard won't look as she used to when they start playing ME3. Now we know it's a demo and we're used the code instead of an actual import feature but it still has me worried since the appearance is so different than that of the previous game.
It's the lighting and shaders they've used. I'm not sure why they changed them (or why they removed the film grain effect, for that matter), but the lighting [in the demo, at least] is just very different this time around. If you notice in the beginning of the demo, the whole alliance council scene is just very dark and looks muddy. Very different from the bright and film grainy look of ME and ME2. I'm hoping it's just a demo thing but it doesn't seem terribly likely.

So this is somewhat confirm that in full game there will be more options on Character Creation
We will see if thats true at launch time ;-)

I guess it's as much as we can hope for at the moment. I'll be glad to find out once the games finally releases.

Regardless, I hope I can change my Shep's face into the new default cuz she's sexy, I got to admit I got a bit of a girl crush on her, lol. I am a bit a bummed that the facial features used for the default, as well as the make-up options don't appear to be available to make my own with like the defaults freckles, eye shadow and lipstick color for example. There's a lipstick that's close but no cigar.

This might indicate otherwise though, but it's not a clear definitive answer:

Can you import your Sheppard into the demo? I didn't see the option....
You can copy the ME2 facecode to the demo but there's no import function.

So, I talked to someone who got one of the Space Edition games. For some reason, when he tried to import, it said that it couldn't find the facial code and had to be retweaked in Character Creation. Honestly, I hope Bioware addresses that issue with failure to import facial codes.
that not good

I just want to be able to make slight changes to my imported face. Crossing my fingers!

Yes, you're right. I copied one of the facial codes and noticed that the hair option for that certain number... was different. After sliding the hair slider a bit, they were missing one of the old hair styles. So yeah, some of the old hairstyles and features were absent.Cherie Bombe wrote...
I'm sure I read somewhere (Twitter?) that the final Character Creator has more options. This might be why the code isn't working quite right in the demo. I hope.

We are bioware....we are not failing....you just dont get it. We did not fail on the steaming pile of crap mmo we released, we did not fail on DA2 , you just don't appriciate good story telling. We are bioware.....we are god.
is this guy serious?
while you're clearly 'on' something, I shall attempt to reply to your deranged
coment with some level of interlect.
The measurement of failure is determined by the standards one sets it against.DA2, for example failed because the standards for many players was that it was going to exceed DAO. it did not, that is not to say it isnt a good game. Hopefully the consept of a good game failing wont blow your mind. Quality of story was never in question, what the story was about did upset players, there is an important difference.
Finally I hate this as much as you do but bioware is not god, bioware is owned by EA. I hate to think of god as EA's b!tch. let alone god being owned by anyone.

My shep looks pretty much the same as she did in mass effect one, only better. Look at what she looks like with the code in the mass effect 2 character creator though. Her eyes are a different colour and her nose looks retarded. So whatever magic happens with the faces imported directly from the saved game, will probably still happen with mass effect 3.
