It goes like this:
Playthrough 1: Canon Shep, whatever mode - I just do whatever I want and whatever happens happens, hooray!
Playthrough 2: Runner Up Canon Shep, save and try everything mode - I want to know what every option is!
Playthrough 3 - 500: Other Sheps, try to see every ending, all classes, all romances, etc.
Playthrough 501: Canon Shep ULTIMATE GOLD EDITION PERFECTION COMPLETION PLAYTHROUGH
Playthrough 502: Let's see what Default Shep does...

That's pretty neat-o, Priestly - but my OCD cannot allow that.

This made me chuckle... probably because, despite my ****ing, I'm going to be doing the same thing... while still ****ing. What? I'm allowed to be inconsistent.

*Your character automatically starts at level 30 on earth (with free class respec and point respec and maybe even bonus power respec) if you import a Maxed character.
*Everyone you care about is alive
*Bonus credits (This is always handy early game)
etc.. There are many benefits. Most of them will make the game easier.

Chris, why not do it the other way around? First import our save and on a second/third/whatever playthrough start a "clean" game and see the changes. The outcome will be the same.

Agreed, that's what I did with ME2. There is no way I would start ME3 on a non import.

Because Priestly has an inflated ego, perhaps, and thinks all threads created by him are greatly important?alex90c wrote...

I can't help but think that Priestly is just trying to cover up for a sub par import system.

I understand the motivation, but I can't help getting worried when I come to the Forums and the first thing I do is see someone from BioWare telling us to ignore the import feature first time through. Combined with the BS Action/RP/Story mode nonsense I get worried about what BioWare really thinks it's doing.
It sounds like Priestly is saying this because BioWare thinks that importing the game is so inconsequential that we won't even notice without playing the normal game first. Here's a hint! Make it consequential!

BioWare is telling us: "Whatever **** u did in ME1 and ME2 doesn't really matter in ME3, so give up ur imports and go without them!"?

Because absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Or Chris just felt like it, whichever is more likely.

I can see your point Chris, buttttt, it's going to be awfully hard to resist the temptation to take "my Shepard" into that virgin ME3 playthrough...
I'll think about it, the idea is interesting.
