This is a crazy idea, but DONT import your saves the first time through (minor spoiler)

Yes yes, I hear you ranting at me "Priestly! You hadsome fool, of COURSE we are going to import our saved games into ME3. Why, I have 17 saves and I'm bringing each one. ME3 is all about finishing MY Mass Effect story, etc etc" and yeah I totally get that, but hear me out.

Hmm... if what i heard bout dead-shep is true, I guess I have 17 saves

That said, you forget one important thing, some of us who have that many actually considered making them http://social.biowar...9589/ ]variable...

So just as default shep won't see some people neither will a good number of my 16 Sheps am taking through the game.

I have to admit to be curious as to who is dead besides Ash/Kaidan in the 'Numerous' Default playthrough though so will most likely do that at some point but it will definitly be after my http://social.biowar...g/59598/ ]Worse Playthrough which I've now decided is going to be my first (and possibly will get replayed if I find ways to make it even worse :lol:) as I don't want that playthrough to be affected by external 'War Asset' gainage due to the nature of the playthrough.

Edit: So, yeah considering the fact that my 'Worse playthrough' is possibly going to have even less than what 'Default' Shep will have (seeing as the only surviving ME2 squadmates are Kasumi and Zaeed and it was done on PS3 so no Rebekah, Shiala, Rana etc.. from ME), I'll accept the challenge as it'll be interesting to see who actually has survived in comparison to my Worse playthrough.

2nd Edit:

I just realised something... Rebekah and her husband (the ones with the baby issue) are in ME2 even if you didn't do ME3. Sure it chose a 'default' choice for it, but they were there. So does that mean that even PS3 players actually get to see them again in ME3?

While you're at it, I can play jack-asses advocate and say this is an attempt at covering up something you guys did, and realized it might ****** off the soap community again.

This, i'm suspicious. With all the negativity going on, this thread pops up.

I actually did this with Mass Effect 2, mostly because the whole "suicide mission" had me nervous in regards in my import. Of course after I knew I'd pretty much have to be an **** bigger than the universe my Shepard would live.

I'll certainly give it some thought, I do want to do a new game with no import as the default Femshep but I was gonna do that in action mode. So we'll see, you make some valid points on why to do that (though I know most won't be doing it)

This is a pretty good point Priestly, I actually played ME1 on a neighbor's borrowed 360 first and then ME2 on my PS3 and then I bought a 360 and got to import. I noticed some pretty cool additions that weren't there on PS3, I guess it's kind of comparable to what you're saying.

But all the same, I dunno man, I just sort of feel like my first ME2 file was really barren in a lot of ways because of the lack of import-related features. I might do this, but I might also look to YouTube/ME WIki afterward for various changes.

What kind of logic is that?

The kind that allows you to shut the "MY CHOICES DIDN'T MATTER. THIS GAME IS MADE FOR NOOBS" people up.

Yep, that really does sound crazy. I intend to that at some point, but certainly not on my very first playthrough. You only get one first playthrough, and it's not going to be wasted playing as RandomShepNumber1.

Interesting, but I dunno...I think I'll still use only imports 100% of the time. I did recognize all the little details in ME2 that wouldn't have been there had i not made certain decisions.

Priestly, Y U NO LET US IMPORT IN THE DEMO?

lmfao!

I know what you mean Chris and I will probably do that as I did with Mass Effect 2 just to see..good idea for sure and something I agree with to get the most out of such games, however not my first playthrough.  lmao @ 17 saves to import

So what I get from this is that, in order to even notice the effects of my choices in the previous games,
I've to play a non-imported save just to REALISE what DOES change if I do sometime import.

K I got it.

Also, I will probably make another run through all of the Mass Effect games after completing Mass Effect 3 at least one or more times.  It would be nice to play the games back to back to back.

I'm on board with the idea, Chris. Delayed gratification is a foreign concept to the immature and weak of character, but it is sweet indeed.

Besides, the only playthrough that matters is my LAST one. The first is just a test run.

Its a good idea and my 2nd play-through will be a non imports before my 3rd import.

But the main reason I won't do this the 1st time is that I don't want my main Shep to have any previous knowledge of choices outcomes and such...no meta gaming for main Shep whatever happens ,happens.

I experienced this by playing ME2 first. It was cool, but I wasn't terribly invested in the game. When I went back later with an imported ME1 save the galaxy was SO much richer the second time around. I was ecstatic to see Garrus again and HATED Cerberus with a passion.

That being said, I don't think I can do it this time around. The first blind playthrough is special and I want the full experience. I don't think Chris is trolling us. The only reason I can see him doing this (besides trying to get the devs some much needed kudos) is because the good ending is too hard to get, so they want us to "practice" on a playthrough we're not so invested in. If that's the case, they should tell us up front to avoid the butthurt screams come March 8th or so.

And Chris, they were debating whether to get gene therapy for Rebecca's baby, not whether or not to have a kid.

Hmm. Darn you for bringing this up, because now I can't decide which to do
This logic makes a lot of sense, but I have a spreadsheet with all my imports lined up and ready to go.
I just don't know and now my head hurts.

It's crazy... but valid. It's a great way to see all the possibilities based on your previous saves compared to the default game.

It's gonna be tough to convince myself to play on default though.... Importing saves is like an addiction. I can't break away by playing the defaults D8
Might need some intervention to fix that though :V

eh....are bioware employees just screwing with us now?

*sigh*

Had to say you already have the game to play don't you? Great trolling though hehe...can't say I wouldn't do the same at this point now that the game is done.

I think I am going to do it the other way. Import then play as a default. Was surprised you posted this though Chris. Good idea but not something I would do
