From the videos i've seen on the net, it looks like the warrior in the group has to perform a finishing move to kill creatures like orges and dragons. I'm just wondering if other classes have finishing moves also, or if its only warriors who can execute a target.
Are warriors the only class that can finish a boss?

During someone's playthrough I saw Leliana leap onto an ogre and finish him. Warriors are not the only ones.

Yes, any class can kill a boss, and every class has some spectacular "finishers"
This being said, a finisher is not NEEDED to kill anything, it just makes it easier and more satisfying.

I wonder if mages get to do anything? In the Sacred Ashes trailer, Morrigan finishes of the dragon with a lightning ball . . . but that's not game play, of course.

Glad to hear it. I really want to play as a mage and was reconsidering it once it seemed that warriors were the only ones who can perform finishers.

I was wondering this too as I recently watched that specific video.
I sure hope it won't be limited to melee combat. This brings me back to some of those awesome Age of Conan caster finishers...

You get a finisher for bosses and if the killing blow was a critical.I think.

I seem to remember that finishers can randomly happen on yellow + mobs at the time of landing the killing blow on the beast. So instead of just dying and falling down with the normal animation you randomly can trigger so really cool, awesome and bad ass finisher animation depending on RNG.

We Warriors get to do finishing moves with a really big sword, whereas you silly rogues do it with a little bit of string tied to wood, or a baby sword and you Slightly Feminine ( not that there's anything wrong with that, it's all cool but I can't take a finishing move seriously from a guy in a dress, if your characters a she its still the same, I think they look better in armor anyway, this is just me I know other people are of other opinions on this) Mages hitting them with a stick ha! I laugh at Thee! The only truly cool way to kill a hideous beast is with a big strong Sword, or a big Rock if your Shale..

I thought the Templar Finished off the Dragon in the Sacred Ashes Trailer with a sword driven through the skull? It was Two hander to the Sternum then lightning to the sword to incapacitate then the Guy in Armor walked up and drove the sword down.

What about the dog?

The dog probably finishes by tearing off some parts

The rogue finisher is AWESOME. I got it during the first ogre fight, truly epic, climbing up the ogre with daggers then stabbing it in the neck, then when it falls stabbing it in the head, truly epic.

Only Meleers have finish moves. The moves is determined by weapon and not job.
I have killed Dragons with Arcane Warrior using Long Sword and got the finish move.

Mages can sort of do finishers.... That is, if you use Animate Dead the skeleton which is brought to a semblence of life by your magic can perform finishing moves.
It's quite hilarious actually. I have some fun screenshots of my skellyfriend stabbing an ogre.

The easier time you have kicking an enemy's butt the higher the chance of getting a finisher. Also, I believe the melee character that does the most damage is the one that gets the finisher.

Mages get combos. Melee fighters get finishing moves. (Leliana strattling a orge's face with two swords stuck in his eyes is not to be missed) Archers get nothing.

The only one I have even seen was in Ostagar for the Ogre fight. Never happened again

I don't think any characters fighting at ranged have a finisher.. You have to be up close and personal.. My rogue got a finisher on the high dragon which was pretty cool. I'm assuming if you wanted to have a mage get a finisher you'd need to put a sword in their hand.

Has anyone else noticed you can also get a finishing move on a regular mob enemy? I noticed my dwarf warrior as usual just hacking away at an enemy and he finished him off with a stab thru the gut, Not as flashy as a finshing move on a boss, but it was still different enuff from his usual moves to be noticeable.

I agree with Vyvexthorne, I think you need to be within melee range in order to get the spectacular finishers. Until my mage went Arcane Warrior, I never saw her get a finisher. Alistair, on the other hand, got an awesome finisher on Flemeth and Oghren got a particularly memorable one on the Brood Mother during my play-through. Good stuff if you ask me!

I actually had Zevan and Leliana doing a finisher on the same ogre at the same time once.
