I know there's a penalty for wearing heavy armor on archers (basically because there's a talent that removes it) but if you're dual wielding can you wear heavy armor or do you get penalties, I'm asking cause I just got warden's armor and it's really really good for my rogue,
any help you can provide will be appreciated

You get a penalty to stamina costs for skills, but they aren't enough to dissuade a rogue from wearing this armour.

Rogues shouldn't be allowed to wear anything higher than medium armour, in my opinion - and even doing that should disqalify you from 'sneaking', for eg.

It's possible, but the strength requirements are so steep for heavy armor, I find it more useful to put those points into Dexterity or Cunning. Sneaking in heavy/massive armor - yeah, I haven't tried it but it doesn't sound right.

Dual wield rogues don't have good enough reason to go over 31 or 32 strength anyway. Which means you do not meet the requirements for the heavy and massive armors. At least as far as I remember. Not sure you'd even meet the requirements for all the medium armors either, with that strength. There's even an axe that you can wear on a rogue without going above 20 strength as well. So you can still go Axe/dagger without going above 20 str. Problem with that axe is that you only get it late in the game.

I think a Duelist has to wear light armor but other than that nope. Kinda lame though

A rogue can benefit from a good strength to use better equipment. Let's face it, daggers are not that good, dual wielding two regular weapons (no daggers) is way better.

Well warden's armor is only 26 str in requirements , is massive (or heavy don't remember) and gives a 15% backstab bonus, so I was thinking that it may be worth it, plus with the full set bonus it's only 15% fatigue, I was just wondering if I loose other stuff (like attack bonus penalties, I already have a hard time hitting anything without heroic offense)

Last I heard from the theorycrafters, Axe/daggers was the best option for rogue's. No clue where the topic with the specifics have gone off too, but you should be able to find it if you try.

i think for a rogue it was : dagger/dagger > axe/dagger = longsword/dagger > everything else.

I believe that the higher your armor, the more threat you produce. I'm not certain though. But if that's true, then wearing heavy armor would just attract more attacks on your Rogue, making the tank's job harder.

Hmmm, considering I have a dual wield rogue on hard set up for a playthrough soon I probably should go dig through the forum to find out for sure.

It's stated in-game. Characters with heavier armor are more likely to be targeted by enemies.

that is true, but once you get combat stealth it's an instant aggro wipe every ten seconds (at least from my experiences so far) and it has only failed for me vs elite bosses , seriously it makes feign death useless

I think that post said dagger/dagger (cunning) = axe/dagger (cunning) > dagger/dagger (dex) > axe/dagger (str)

It says that longswords aren't even worth the trouble (poor swing time and lower coefficient)

I've had the same thing happen to me. i love my warrior, im normally a tank, but on my last warrior that i imported to awakening,  also made him DW. and i realy enjoyed it. but i wanted to know exactly how bad is the penalty for a rogue to use heavy armor, like what exactly is the whole penalty for heavy armor on a rogue and how badly does it affect them?

There is no penalty, except that you need to level strength and the increased stamina cost.
