I normally don't rant about things, but I had such high expectations for this game, and it seems like I'm being let down at every turn. I've experienced so many issues, I would enjoy hearing some other opinions as well. I know this is just a demo, but I really hope most of these issues aren't going to make the final cut. I haven't played the mulitplayer yet, so this is all about single player.
-First off, the character customization seems very stale. It felt like they took mass effect 2's system, threw a coat of blue paint on it, and called it a day. The character customization has never been as in depth as i would like, but i do think some advancement in this area besides more color choices for hair and eyes seems like a reasonable expectation. Being a demo, they may have more in the actual game.
-The gameplay itself started out very nicely. the conversation and cutscenes were as good, if not better than me2. The tutorial level was smooth, flawless, and very well thought out. Once that ended, however, things got bad. In the next level, enemies seemed to teleport into cover. I'd be aiming at them, and then they'd appear behind a column 7 ft away. I'm assuming this is easily fixable, but happened much to often for my liking.
-Also, as mentioned in other threads, I've been getting rocked behind any low cover. unless i was behind a wall or column, i wasn't safe from enemy fire. This isn't entirely unreasonable, but gets annoying very fast, as do the grenades. I found myself having to roll out of cover way too often due to grenades. Also,I was dying instantly if a grenade blew up any where around me, even at full health and shields. I played on insanity and hardcore, so im not sure if this is different on lower difficulties.
-Once you go regenerating health, why would you go back to non regenerating health? its such a pain. I had to try and budget my medkits so that I wasn't always half dead, and my team wasn't always lying on the floor. I know you can revive people instead, but in the middle of a firefight, it's not a great idea.
-the rolling idea was something I was initially excited about, but loses that same feeling in execution. More often than not i would go to take cover, and roll right past it. Rolling out of cover also felt very sluggish and delayed.
-The powers also seemed very broken. The cooldowns seemed ridiculously long. The sentinels armor took some getting used to. I guess it doesnt just go down, then explode. you have to explode it on your own. I kept pressing the armor button when it went down (like im used to doing) and ended up exploding the armor instead, and being left defenseless. This may just take some getting used to.
-my biggest issue was with tactical cloak. It seems like it did abo****ely nothing to help me when it came to gameplay. I'd go into cloak, get out of cover to flank, and get cut down by fire in seconds. Seriously? why give me the ability to be invisible if everybody can still see me? Maybe this was just a glitch, but it was extremely frustrating.
Hopefully im not the only one who experienced these issues, and some people can agree with me that these issues need to be fixed. I'll probably play the demo a few more times with the different classes to see how they function, and post any other issues I find. Anybody else have some thoughts?
Demo came out finally...was it worth it?

I didn't encounter any problems when I was playing as an infiltrator.

Cloak worked fine for me, Also i think the new health system is great plus the fact that enemies can hit the parts of you that "sticks" out of cover makes you notice your surroundings and the places with good cover more and in my opinion this is a good thing.

I noticed once or twice that if I cloaked while out of cover and under fire the enemies kept shooting at me - possibly a demo bug. On the whole the cloak works fine though. I just finished a very enjoyable insanity run with a shotgun, squad cryo and incinerate.

The only problem I've had with 9 Shepards is it's (the Demo)aimed to the pew-pew crowd. If the final game is the same it will be a pain to play.I have no idea how the RPG parts will playout,or how they are fleshed out in the game.
I found no real bugs other then getting stuck behind cover once in awhile.Had to restart that one as I was unable to do anything except turn around.Play on the 360.

The demo is certainly worth it for the MP. I am so pleasantly surprised by how good it is, been playing it nonstop.
The single player..ehhh. Its cool and all, but its the same content we've been seeing since E3, it was very short, and it feels like a lot of dialogue was cut out. Not a very impressive SP demo, although I am loving the gameplay and new powers (but thats mostly from MP experience).
Seriously, if your feeling let down by the SP demo, wait till the MP is available and try it out. It gives a much better feel for the improved combat and now that I've gotten used to the controls I am LOVING it.

Haven't played but from the footage i've seen, it looks less than impressive compared to 1 & 2 atm. Not a final build apparently so maybe that will change but there is a lot of worrying elements atm.
