OK, so we know we all picked pre-service history and a psych profile for our Shep, we all know they did something spectacular during their time with the Alliance, but in 11 years of service, what else did Shepard do?

Or, is that left up to us to decide in our own canon?

He did soldier things, completed N7 training which can take years, went on missions and served on warships.

They aren't going to make a list.

Probably nothing of note.

This basically, i mean after becoming N7 a good bit of Shepards missions would be covert and classified, and all of them didn't necessarily have to end up with someone dead, ie: recon, sabatoge...etc.

your guess is as good as mine

Becoming an N7 Marine alone is pretty noteworthy. Of course, there's the background you can pick, plus the events of the 3 games.

My sole survivor Shepard has:

-Enlisted as N7 (Essentially the ME equivalent to the SPARTAN program)
-Survived the Thresher Maw attack on Akuze
-Became the first human SPECTRE.
-Killed the Thorian
-Destroyed Saren's Genophage cure and his base on Virmire
-Orchestrated the defence of the Citadel against Sovereign and killed Saren
-Stopped the Collectors and destroyed the proto-Reaper
-Stopped the Reapers from harvesting everybody (In ME3)

Shepard has done more than a lot of other video games protagonists do in the same amount of time.

Lets say ... there's a huge gap between "enlisted at 18" and first ME - 11 years.

So I guess his initial career was pretty much ordinary, however, at some point (Torfan, Elysium, Sole Survivor) someone (it's hinted it was Anderson) noticed Shepard and introduced him/her to the N7 program.

I think that was somewhere between 22 - 25 years, which means Shep held the rank of a Chief in that time. S/he became Lt. Commander after graduating the N7 program. No idea how much time it took to go through that training, but given the fact it was not that easy, I would add at least another year or two.

Between that day and becoming the Human's first Spectre, s/he saw some classified action - at least full two years.

Something like that.

My Shepard is a Spacer. And here's a VERY summed up version of my head canon.

Childhood
- was a lonely smart kid

Late Teenager
- Got into fights (think fight club)
- Estranged from father. (They start to get along pretty well as Shepard gets older)
- Exhibits sadistic tendencies.

18
- Enlisted, picked for N7 program before he finished training due to prodigal hacking skills.

19
- Engaged to first wife (She was an officer and 22 @ the time)
Approx. 22
- Elysium happened. He loses wife after being married for only a week. He drops off the face of the galaxy and goes AWOL.

Approx. 24-25
- Year and half later, accidentally runs into a Marine during a drug binge. It's Anderson. He nothing short of drags Shepard to a rehab facility.
-Learns to channel the pain into his work.

26
- Gets shipped off to top-secret N7 ship for 3 years. Exhibits suicidal tendencies. Gets promoted from 2nd Lieuie to Lieu Commander

29
- Gets assigned to Normandy
- Still some notable emotional instablilty as result of external influence.

Training. Training. Training.

"Men are seldom born brave but they acquire courage through training and discipline - a handful of men inured to war proceed to certain victory; while on the contrary numerous armies of raw and undisciplined troops are but multitudes of men dragged to the slaughter."

---Flavius Vegetius Renatus
