It's not supposed to transfer perfectly, the demo's character creator is missing parts and the codes work differently anyway.

My faces translated pretty good, though the eyes looked a bit odd. I really wish Bioware would give some better lighting/view options since I've remade countless ME2 games because of how a char looked in the creation screen then translated into something less awesome once in game. Having to play through that intro every time - oi vey! Haha :)

My ME1 > ME2 import looked weird, so I had to redo the face code and ME2 femsheps all look pretty similar to me.
So in ME3 I tried to recreate my ME1 Shepard and that worked out pretty well.
I like the new character creator a lot more than the two previous games.

I've noticed that some sliders don't work properly and don't follow a correct number-letter sequence.

Sam started like this

He evolved into this:

And now he looks this, it doesn't matter if I copy/paste the code, type it or play with the sliders:

My FemShep was barely recognizable from ME2 and in the five minutes I messed around with the sliders I didn't manage to recreate a result that was close. She went from quite pretty - with a face that looked particularly great during conversations in ME2 - to very unattractive.

Wow, nothing turned out the same except maybe the lips and the ears.

By now, I'm used to having to go back and tweak Shepard's appearance.

When I started up ME2, I imported my ME1 femshep. Some things looked weird like her nose and cheeks. I ended up backpedaling and using my ME2 code to recreate her in ME1 since I wanted to change some choices and class anyway.

Now in ME3, I tried my ME2's code and it just looked... different. So after a rinse and repeat in the CC's plastic surgeon, I have my ME3 character code. Despite all of that messing around, it was fun to 'update' her look so to speak.

I still can't get past the fact that custom Shepard characters and background NPC's look like a mix of The Sims & The Incredibles while major characters like Anderson have skin and features that are scarred, freckled and detailed beyond belief.

The four that I had codes for translated really well, there were a few minor differences but nothing that made them look unrecognisable.

I only checked three characters. Two were completely unrecognizable, one transferred ok =/

My Shep wore makeup in ME1 and ME2, so yeah, she doesn't look all that hot now.

Yes, its that the full game will construct the face directly from the save game instead of using the code system, which has changed. So if I understand it, everyone's faces should be accurate in the final game. We'll see.

Hmm, maybe my Shep didn't transfer as badly as I thought. Of course, this time I made some tweaks that bothered me in ME2.

My maleshep looks perfect.  He looks better than he has in any of the other games.
All I did was darken his hair a little too.

My test Femshep improved from ME2 - Better eyes and better hair!  She looks better in the cutscenes compared to the creation screen for some reason.

I will say one thing good about the demo, sheploo didn't look dopey like he has in the past 2 games.

If you imported your ME1 face into ME2, the code shown on the character screen is a dummy code. That's why it isn't working in the ME3 demo. When you import into the full game, it should be fine/better.

do we know if we can actually tweak our Shep's faces this time when we import? I feel like we got confirmation of that, but I can't remember.

I'm worried my Shep's are going to transfer bad, one of my Shep's cheekbones got razor sharp in ME2 for no reason..

Your Femshep's expression on the ME3 side is awesome. Like whoever she's looking at is a complete ****** and now they know it for sure.

Can you link this/direct me to the thread? I'm really curious.
