I've had Thane for a while, but I want to re-recruit him, and do his mission and loyalty over. I have downloaded Gibbed, opened my last save game, and removed all the checks beside his name. After starting ME2 and loading the edited saved game, when I go to the the galaxy map, the tag is there to "Recruit the Assasin" on Illium. Travelling to Illium, I talk to Liara about Thane, and she tells me to see Serena in the transport hub. Going to the hub, Serena is no longer there, and I know that I need her to take me to Thane.

Is there a way around this so that I can re-recruit him?  Thanks

I can't tell, because i can't play mass effect on the pc i am currently writing this reply, but make sure there is no flag that has anything to do with serena ticked, that may be why she doesn't appear

There is no option for Serena. I also tried it with Tali, as you can go directly to the planet she is on. On arrival, you battle a handful of geth and you can navigate the rest of the map, but there is nothing there objects,ppl, etc) like had been in the original quest.

Well, Serena wouldn't have any specific flags due to the fact that she's a minor character.

I don't think there is, by doing the mission one time, you've probably triggered a flag that makes her disappear that doesn't appear under Thane's name.

Sorry buddy, unless you can find a flag in there under her name, you're probably screwed.
