1 - Use the built in driver function for resize desktop and lower only vertical resolution.

Examples:
A. 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 monitors will output 1920x810
B. 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 monitors will output 2560x1080

2 - Run multiple monitors (3+)

Example:
A.  5760x1080 resolution

3 - Upgrade a standard Computer monitor to a 21:9 television (Not cheap currently, but may add some geek points to your setup!)

* This is only an option if they accept a 2560x1080 resolution (if not you can always use 1920x816 and have the tv scale to the 21:9 panel size.)

Examples:
A. http://www.vizio.com...nemawide/specs/
B. http://www.philips.c...82E.app102-drp3
C. http://www.philips.c...82E.app102-drp3
D. http://www.flatpanel...l&id=1296145297

I would not really consider this solutions, more workarrounds, a solution would be if the devs would actually put in some effort and include FOV Options in every game.

or do they want to make a product that gives people motion sickness and makes them uncomfortable?

I agree, either buying an expensive new monitor or dragging my TV upstairs are not real solutions to a problem that shouldn't even exist in the first place and is, in any case, easily and inexpensively fixable by the developer.

Well the problem will continue forever it seems with most ported and even non-ported games, so you may as well find a hardware / software solution that works.

If you don’t use one of my solutions you may be upset with almost every new game release for the foreseeable future.

It is not my loss, if they don't want my money, I will just spend it on something else, that does not make me uncomfortable!

Making FOV Options avaible to the costumer is not a big deal or takes lots of work. There is no good reason whatsoever, that FOV is fixed in ridiculous low angels, especially since it causes motion sickness on a large number of potential costumers.

I was just thinking, maybe we could persuade some consumer watch dogs and health and safety organizations to "test" this game, maybe, just maybe, that sort of publicity might get EA to actually take notice and force Bioware to do something.

Let's say I decide to use 1920x810 for my res, how do I set the game to use it? I used NVCPL to set it at 1920x810, but the neew res doesn't show up in ME3?

*Make all your setting in the game and using the external configuration tool first.

Nvidia Control Panel
Display
Adjust desktop size and position
Size Tab
Enable desktop resizing
Resize...
Lower vertical resolution to be 810
Apply

Done...

Play the game and do not try to change the resolution in the game, or you will mess it up.

Actually found an easier way, go to:

C:\\Users\\username\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3 Demo\\BIOGame\\Config: gamersettings.ini

Change the vert res to 810. I like it, only thing is navigating the menus is a pain since to can't see the top or the bottom of some things.

Ok you take this
4x3 (1:33.1)
Image IPB

And transform it in to this

64:9 (7:12.1) 4 Monitors wide
Image IPB
[b]

But, with same display size, its not an increase, its a 5 times screen reduction. Not counting the binoculars.

Your missing the point. You "could" do that with 4 monitors, and 4 monitors wide is a joke by the way, as the bezel would be in the middle of the screen... Lol.

But you are correct I did that on one monitor and it is tiny as hell.... Haha

I even tried 5+ monitor type screen shots but I couldn't start the game as you can't click action on the menu any more after 4x screen wide.

+1

I'm sure there's good support for different FOV:s in the game engine, they just need to change som variables somewhere.

Interesting idea. I've stuck ME3 into Windowed mode and edited the gamersettings.ini to get a more extreme aspect ratio and I'll give it a shot (I can't seem to force the desktop on ATI in any obvious manner). As it is the FOV is claustrophobically low, so it might be a stop-gap measure.

Okay, I just played through the demo with this "fix".   Its an 'acceptable' solution for now.    I will probably feel comfortable ordering the game now.   Bioware should thank you Nascasho for at least one sale.

You can definitely tell the loss of resolution, but it does fix the FOV enough so that I don't get sick playing the game.   The aliasing is extremely noticeable, but maybe I can fix that within the Nvidia control panel.

On the plus side, my display auto-adjusts for this setting making the dialog wheel and the subtitles MUCH larger which is good.   Its unfortunate that a company can't add a simple FOV adjustment so that we can have the higher resolution AND not get sick from essentially being forced to look through a tube.

While I appreciated your efforts, I am not willing to go playing around with my desktop sizes or messing up anything external to the game.    I don't only play just 1 game at a time and constantly changing things back and forth would be a major pain.
