Mass Effect 3 Demo 1080 PC - Lets take a look Part 2

I have a look at the pc demo of Mass Effect 3. I have been waiting a while for this game. Really enjoyed me1/me2 so my excitement level for this game is pretty high. This is part 1 of a 2 part recording. I just cant render and upload a 29min 1080 video with my upload rate.

Lets hope the isps around me get there act together and give some better upload speeds soon. It would mean more videos and higher quality too.I am also working on setting up one of my other rigs to unload some of the work onto.I think I will do a LP for this game since I will be playing it through for sure. The texture quality on the armor is the only thing that worries me but it only seems to be a real issue in cinematic. The game overall looks fantastic.

Like most console games, Mass Effect 3 has poor texture resolution in order to fit the significant memory constraints of those platforms. Its art assets are simply not designed to be viewed at high resolutions or up close, and in many cases it is well below PC game standards from even 2003. Art direction can compensate, but only so much.

I very much enjoyed your response to the gameplay mode selection screen. You read "Story" and went "whaaa...!?"

Lucky the overall quality of the game is fantastic. but yea just upsets me, hopefully the fxaa injector can sharpen those textures up a tad.

For some reason armor/clothes texture resolution was downgraded in comparison to Mass Effect 2.I guess the developers wanted the faces to look much better, and had to sacrifice how the rest of the bodies look because of hardware constraints.

Because if we look at ME2 and ME3 side by side,it's clear that ME2 had higher armor/clothe texture resolution.

I am most amused by the fact that you saw the new default Shepard and said "you don't look like the default Shepard, man!" Because I totally agree.

Don't hold your breath on higher resolution textures for the armor. You didn't get it for ME2 either. However, I do know that some people did work on creating some high res mods for the PC version of ME2, and I imagine they'd want to do the same for ME3.

You picked Soldier, though. BORING.

Heh I like soldier, U can do anything :D Yea shepards look surprised me, almost made me want to roll a dude. I think with the fxaa mod we could make textures a tad better but only a little by upping sharpness

I'll agree with the facial improvements, it's much closer to something you'd see from Naughty Dog's work with Uncharted/The Last of Us. Armor detail, hard to tell from the video. Eh, I'll wait on playing the game once the full version's available.

You picked Soldier, though. BORING.

This. Biotics make for more amusing gameplay. :P

Thanks for releasing the video though.

Thanks. With my rig hitting fraps isnt a big deal so I try to give footage for those busy with work/rl and cant actually play yet. Part 2 has then rest of that video. I dont play through the level 12 stuff though, dont want to ruin any story. Playing that first bit didnt really hurt the story for me as anyone with a brain could predict the start of me3 lol :)

"Let's take a look"

...why ? A blurry texture still looks blurry at 1920x1080. What good is it to have no jaggies around the models if they are dressed in blocky texture clothing ?
