I'm not too certain if a thread in this section has been produced yet, but oh my, its the one thing I caught off the top of my head that needs to be addressed. The running animations are atrocious, they look like something out of one of those classic comedy acts on stage. This needs to be addressed, and I can't be the only one seeing this.
The second seems to be inconsistent cover system, where I can be hit through a wall to my left, although still being shielded on my front. Whether this is because pillars or other structures don't shield while you are in cover or not or whether its some sort of oddity, I know being shot in cover is still realistic and fair, but I think the angles need to be addressed or at best looked into/confirmed.
so do i
ME3 Running/Walking animation so terrible
i was so disappointed by animation

The rubber band between the player and Anderson was also a bit too rigid, almost felt like you were controlling him instead of Shepard.

Running and walking animations are atrocious, plain and simple. They look completely unnatural. In fact, I felt like all animations in the demo looked like they came from a Charlie Chaplin movie (as in, played slightly faster than they should have been). I hope it's not Bioware's way of intensifying the action.
lol at "Charlie Chaplin movie" hahahahah

The animations were amazingly terrible. If the animations aren't 100% better in the final game, Bioware should fire their entire animation department.
Those are harsh and unfair requests. First of all, what does '100% better' constitute? Unclear meaning.
Secondly, if Bioware fired their entire animation 'department' there wouldn't be many Mass Effects coming out this decade.
Thirdy, nothing's going to change, the game's gone gold. Buy it or don't buy it. Those are your only options right now.

It really doesn't make sense... I can create a more realstic running animation without motion capture and all the awesome tools Bioware has at their disposall. Who,at Bioware, saw that animation and said "Yep, that's perfect! Exactly what we're going for, don't change a thing"??? You can't tell me they couldn't do better. Honestly, it's embarassing (for Bioware and myself)... I've been so excited for this game since finishing ME2. I've been telling my friends for the past year how awesome this game is going to be and then we get junk like this?
It's not going to stop me from cancelling my collector's edition order for the game or anything, but it just hurts that something so integral and visible has been giving such an ugly makeover. The game itself, I'm sure, is going to be fantastic but it's the details that make Mass Effect the franchise it is.
Bioware, pull your heads out of your asses, yank the plug out of Shep's ass, have some respect for the previous two games and fix the animations. Thank you.

Pretty much this, the E3 presentation looked a little better though, could have been the demo for reals then ..I hope.
I really want to believe that. I want to believe the textures and animations have been cut a little to reduce the demo's size so it would be easily downloadable. Though I'm afraid BioWare's silence on this part says enough...

I wouldn't say they've been completely silent. They've mentioned on Twitter that the final game will have more features and be more polished. More "polished" however, is relative.

There's indeed no telling what exactly they mean by 'more polished' but I'd assume they bring out a demo to give people a quick go with the game but also to promote it. If they leave out some textures and animations in the demo only then that's fine but they could've said so earlier, before people started complaining.
Guess we really won't know until the full game comes out...

I've noticed the animations go steadily downhill since ME1. You'd think things would improve over 5 yrs. Unfortunately not so. The guys in your animation department need to get out more and watch real women move and stop looking at still photos in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issues and other mags. Women do not walk and run like muscle bound men.
I am really hoping this was a "quick go" with the game and that this is not the true animation that is in the game. If it is, oh man, this is sad, and regardless of the story I won't be able to score the game over a 8.0. Why? Because it is so bad it ruins the immersion.

The silence is what worries me the most. I don't expect to know what bits of story content were removed, but it wouldn't be too hard for them to either say before release or after demo release that the animations were sacrificed for the sake of the demo. I don't think it's too much to ask to know whether I'm going to be floating from place to place for 30 hours.

The reason why people are finding problems with the cover system when AI are shooting back is because it is scripted and not an actual physical projectile that can hit objects in the way, Same as ME2, a quality lacking from ME1.. Infact ME2 and I think ME3 wont come close to the awesomeness of ME1. Oh and ME3 still feels like a console port..

Ah k, didn't know thats how they did the attacks, tbh I didn't invest nearly as much time in ME2 as I did ME1, but unlimited sprint in its own right is kind of stupid too, I know for MP itself, I just hold down sprint and run and go from objective to objective.
