I've played quite a few matches and i've noticed something at the end of some matches.

You get medals for things you do (ie. headshots, specific gun kills, kills, etc) but one of them really caught my attention.

I've noticed a 1 Grab (+500) a few times. And just now I "think" I saw a 5 Grab medal.

How do you get this one? Its definitely not just Heavy Hit because that one just gives melee medals.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Super curious.

have to be in cover and have an enemy on the other side of the cover. Then you can grab them and kill them. Not sure if its specific to certain classes or not.

This is just a guess, but i think its a melee kill when the enemy is on the other side of your cover, you pull him over it to stab him with the omni blade.

I must try this.

Every class can do it and it's weirdly always an omni-blade-grab-kill, no matter what your heavy attack normally is. At least I think so. My engineer does the normal omni-blade-grab-kill anyway.

Vanguards (and by extension, I assume adepts) use a biotic falco punch. They do not pull out an omni-blade for the grab kill.

Not for a Krogan, he just pulls the poor sod over and mashes his skull in with his fist.

Could someone tell me what keys need to be pressed to perform a grab kill? I've tried Up+Spacebar, but it only seems to make my character vault over cover.

Its the same controls as heavy melee. Easiest classes are engineers and infiltrators thanks to overload stun and tactical cloak respectively.

By the way, Krogan are skull crushingly awesome.

It's the same as the melee-button.
Once you are in cover, there should be a closed fist instead of the vault-over arrow. If there is an enemy on the other side of the cover, of course.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that this will instantly kill anything outright, even phantoms with their barrier up.

I was playing with an adept yesterday who was the last man standing near the end of wave 9. He performed 2 grabs on unsuspecting targets within the space of about 20 seconds. I hadn't seen that before in mp and have to admit to being impressed.

1 grab - 500pts
3 grabs - 1500pts
5 grabs - ????pts
havent made it past 3 yet but im assuming the score keeps goin up by 500pts. its a great bonus but really hard to get, grabbing takes about a second longer than many enemies will stand still

cloak makes it a lil easier if they dont see you coming or start moving to find one of your teammates. its really hard to get a grab if other ppl are fighting nearby tho

You grab the enemy from behind the same cover you're at, pull him over and stab him in the face. Pretty neat.

I haven't seen a prompt for it, but once I did some kind of heavy melee around a corner that had a really weird (as in, didn't make any sense) animation.
I'm guessing it was more of a glitch where the melee attack got cancelled and it popped me into cover. I haven't been able to reproduce it.

I do this whenever I can. From what I know there have to be a few criteria to be met:

- The cover must be the kind of cover you can vault over.
- This cannot be done around corners.
- The icon "Fist" has to appear. You only need to tap the melee button once, do NOT hold it.
- This kills almost any enemy instantly, despite their defenses and health.
- Three grabs net you a cool 1500+ XP. So go for it!
- Infiltrators can set this one up easily due their clock.
- Sentinels can do this easily due their survivability and able to shrug off any incoming damage.

I love cloak-grabbing people. It's great when their entire squad turns around all puzzled.

Too bad guardians aren't affected... until you pull their shield from them.
