I've fallen in love with The Widow.

The way it makes bodies move as if they are hit by a truck.

They way it goes through guardian Riot shields (Not through the peep hole)

The way it can take over half the armor of an atlas if you shoot it in the cockpit.

Amazing. :3

If the Widow is anything like it was in ME2 it's the be-all end-all rifle to end all other rifles. I'm unsure how powers and abilities will transfer over to ME3 in single or multi player but I do hope you can get the uber combo of Widow + Armor Piercing Ammo again.

This is why I hate these damn random packs. I have a fully maxed out Infiltrator and STILL don't have a Widow.

Even without the elusive 1-match ammo upgrade, its still pretty beast.

With all the Tact cloak bonus plus, Alliance Training, and the Fitness(25% bonus if you happened to H Melee) your damage output is pretty awesome.

Hah, I'm 19 on my infiltrator... but I actually got it when I was messing around with my Quarian Eng at like 9 I think. Random packs is definitely a pain.

Just soloed bronce with infiltrator and a widow. It's ridiculous, how you can one-shot kill anything and only need three shots to take down an atlas.
Not to mention that you can shoot through cover and some walls.

Now that is a good gun then.

I've been fortunate and have the Widow II. It is a gorgeous gun. The downside is weight - with the Widow your recharge time gets nerfed because the weight is at maximum. Also, you won't rack up many assist medals because it is a one shot, one kill gun.

I've had good luck with guns. On the other hand, I had a level 20 Sentinel and a level 15 Infiltrator before I got a single non-human unlock. So, it is all random.

I was fortunate to get one awhile back, too bad I dont get to keep it when the full game comes out. Hopefully it wont take me long to unlock it again, it truly is a beautiful weapon.

Got the widow and a Salarian infiltrator yesterday. So insanely awesome! Originally wasn't sure if it was going to be able to replace my Mantis VII but then I shot a riot guard through his shield and 3 shotted an Atlas.

Claymore hits much harder, but the Widow has the incredibly useful ability to shoot through Guardian shields (and through weak targets like Assault troopers) without AP ammo.

If you have a Mantis and a Viper. discard the Viper unless you are prone to miss every shot. In the case, don't be a sniper? The Mantis is superior to the Viper. Of course, the Widow > all.

my gold sniper rifle medals prove you false, widow and mantis is stupid overkill by the time you have popped one shot off I have shot 3 gurdians through sheild slits twice each and killed them with viper (silver & gold) or I need just one on bronze

viper is for people who actualy want to be usefull and not just get bronze sniper rifle medal since they spend most of the round invisable or reloading, not to say widow is useless compared to the mantis its alot better for anti armor and its good to have someone packing it along when the atlas's start showing up, since overload and phalax take to long to strip one down

tried the widow.... got bored wth all the reloading when theres 3 centurians wandering around I know that iv taken one out when i had the viper I would of taken all 3 but yeah sure im sure the viper must suck since 100% accurate high damage rapid fire rifle must be for people who cant aim....

just like how all the pro snipers in Counter Strike use the AWP, OH WAIT!

I dont think theres many matches where I dont get 75+ kills a match with a sniper rifle if I choose to use it. the only time is when im competing against another infiltrator, adept or vanguard for kills. the vanguard is particularly annoying since he kills guys before you can see them, so your viper will be useless too. but your hyperhole is annoying. I also favoured the viper for a while over the mantis but switched to the widow after finding how easily  I could kill enemies behind cover/through shields where a viper may miss some shots or the mantis not penetrate. also body shots kill regular enemies with 'bolt actions types' which is another large factor for getting high kills rather than assist.

for fast firing head-shotting NOTHING beats the carnifex which is better than the viper for all cases except for killing guardians where extreme aim is required. its prob got better killing potential than the widow too for raking up kills, but not quite as good when taking actual threats to your team.

Ah, the first time I used a widow I blew a guardians head off through the shield (not the slot) then looked to my left only to blow a hole through some poor bastard on the other side of a wall. I never did go around the corner to see what I killed, sad... Buuuuut I quickly realized that the weight of the gun kills your power recharge and I'd be better off with a little less powerful, faster shooting weapon.

Based on the pictures of the full game weapons that were posted by someone on Steam, the Widow is tied for most damage with a new Geth sniper rifle. There's also the Black Widow, which does a bit less damage but has multiple shots per clip.

Using most classes with the carnifex only. If you have the carnifex (preferrably with pistol scope), you have a semi-automatic head-popper without equal. Also the 188% power recharge is quite welcome.

The viper is good, all the weapons are good, depend on what your style is.

The Predator is just as good with a scope on it.
