Honestly this mode is very very basic.

I know EA's new policy is to include online in everything and I get that you don't care for multi-player, I really do, but there were better options for a more complete and fun experience.
Why not have them take those faceless characters as extras in the campaign mode alongside of the host's Shepard? If that was too difficulty due to cutscenes not set up to include them, why not have them play as Shepard's party members? Take control of Liara or Garrus?
Food for thaught.

Really? Try inviting more people, or talking to your online buddies to get a match set up.Lord_Sloth wrote...
I have. It won't allow more than 1 other person in and it's still Horde mode.
Rocked it with FeralEwok and DiebytheSword today (Icinix, Asparagarrus, and grimm were there, too).
I'm not saying it isn't horde mode, or that it isn't simple, but it's insanely fun. It's like the Super Smash Brothers of TPSes, only without the hyper-competitive BS.

Considering how late in the game this mode was decided upon, it's surprisingly polished. I was expecting a lot, lot more trouble.

I mean it's really well polished (except for horrid animation, control, 3 action in 1 button thing) and one of the most interesting pve I've played to date.
Yet any vast amount of weapon choices, skill, class, playstyle variation, enemy types, map types would evetually gets boring, eventually.
Hope there can be more new modes, maps, weapons, playable races, enemy types, vehicles (atlas?) can follow up afterwards to keep the game alive.
I don't really like shallow sp as there's not much replayability along with different playstyle, tactics, but as far as mp goes, more new innovative contents are welcome as good mp replayability is always better than shallow plotted sp add ons.

More tedious sp no thanks but polished, well balanced, mp that provides many different tactical options are welcome.

6 or so months ago people were horrified at the announcement of Multiplayer.. and now they want MORE.
For the first time we can play as other races and experience the Mass Effect world with people we know. It's a great start. If it goes well I'm sure it will lead the way for more sophisticated multiplayer along the road.

And anything Horde-like is awesome! It sure beats facing-off with actual "intelligent" players!

With all due respect, Bioware, this is just lazy. Horde style battle mode where you play faceless chaps fighting random battles?

Sorry dude, but you are wrong. I have played my fair share of the big multiplayer games and none has ever been this fun with friends or not.
It's called refinement, this is, at it's core, what multiplayer should be. God I love it.

Love the use of quotes too.
The great thing about coop play is that computer enemies are designed to be challenging without being dirty little jerks that do nothing but spam exploits and ruin the game.
Even on bronze, there is enough enemies for everyone, there is zero chance of getting annoyed because of what the game does.

Did you guys not see the cut scenes in the the Special Forces trailer where Shepard was talking to the CO-OP team? No? I doubt it was just my imagination. Heck I just went to watch it now and you even see Shepard stepping off a car with Garrus and (I think) Admiral Hackett.
I'm not 100% sure that that cutscene is actually related to Special Forces/ Multiplayer, it kind looks like Shepard is addressing his squad, like the endgame in ME2, and I only say that because of a certain squadmate's shoulder in front of Shepard, but I don't have any other reason to think that.
A slightly story driven coop(which it can hardly help being, most of the time since we're playing it alongside SP campaigns), is a great idea though. I already like the variety of objectives they use. "Recover ship schematics!" or "Retrieve STG intel!", etc. Not exactly story driving...but slightly more immersive.

Basic multiplayer games are awesome. Why make it a p***ing contest like what all those other games out there are trying to do right now?
