Infact, I didn't know this button exsisted until a friend of mine brought it to my attention and questioned me as to what it did. In honesty, I have no idea, but said button (On the 360) is where you choose/create the character, choosing the spec/race of it.

To cut things short, what does it actually do? My guess is that the character will be saved, thus you'll be able to access it once the game is released. I may've missed it somewhere, as to what it's purpose/function is, but as of now; it's still greyed out for me on every class/combo. - If anyone does know, could you please say it, or if there's a post somewhere about it; redirect me there. Thanks~

I thought that's how you import them into your singeplayer campaign as war assets?

Interesting; regardless, the option is still greyed out for myself. How do you go about being -able- to import them, should it be correct. Would one need to reach the max level for that particular character, or what?

That'd be my guess, though we'll never know until the full game is released, as I've reach max level with the soldier and no bueno.

What if the 'PROMOTE' button represents some kind of a "rebirth" mechanic available only in the full version? The name certainly fits. Just think about it, there's no delete character button or something to reset your skill point distribution. If you'd leveld up to level 20 with every available class, there wouldn't be anything to do apart from farming credits for veteran packs.

For example, you "promote" your level 20 Salarian Infiltrator to level 1 Elite Salarian Infiltrator or something and you get some additional points per level to spend on the other skill tree you ignored the first time. That would be very cool, IMHO.

would be verry cool indeed

i actually tought it was a way to unlock another race within your class if you reach lvl 20 with it before unlocking it

tough tommy's suggestion makes the most sence

It's greyed out because you're playing the demo. Nothing in the demo is going to transfer to the real game. In the real co-op you will be able to activate the button.

I think you're right, and I agree that it makes the most sense. I really like the synergy between the two campaigns

It's a hope. God forbid someone say prestige lol. Good idea IMO if you get to re-do a lvl.

Wonder if you promote them if they'll still be playable in MP or if that resets the character slot for a person to start over with a new name etc...
