Anderson's lines in the demo

In the demo you hear Anderson say:
Every minute these machines are here, thousands of people die.
While if you watch the voice cast trailer he says:
Every minute these machines are here, thousands of innocent people will die. Millions! (with emphasis)
(around the 2:50 mark)
Now they said the game's script did change from the "leaked content" and the final script is much different. Perhaps this demo uses the old script instead of the new one.
To me the second line sounds much better.

I twitched. Hard. Especially since there's been the 'It's not ammo!' argument being repeated ad infinitum since ME2.

Interesting find. I know that some things have been cut from the demo for memory reasons. It also could be an older build. I think one of those gaming review websites had an article talking about how the Earth level had improvements made to it since E3, which is what we got in the demo.

Btw, I thought this thread was going to make fun of all the stuff Anderson says to Shep as if speaking to a toddler like "Shoot 'em!" as if Shep would need such crude advice on what guns are for.

I can only imagine how sleepy the writers must have been when they wrote that lineTimmibal wrote...

I just want to know what version this demo is. Whoever was in charge of deciding what to do with the demo either took the lazy route or is using the most recent version of the game. Hopefully it's the former.
This.

I'm hoping the demo was not an accurate representation of the game's actual dialogue, because the present dialogue reminded me of a really bad B movie. Very contrived. And that made me sad.

I had a problem with one of his lines that was something like (while talking to Shepard), "The **** you've done, you could've been court martialed and discharged..." I'm assuming he's referring to Shepard's actions in ME2 and/or the Arrival DLC. Either way, Shepard was, and correct me if I'm wrong, decidedly not in the Alliance at that time. So either Anderson's line is a hypothetical of sorts, or the writers are forgetting this fact. How could Shepard have been court martialed if he wasn't even in the Alliance in the first place? This is even confirmed later on in the demo when Anderson commands Shepard to do something and Shepard responds with something like, "I don't take orders from you anymore."

A quick comment to this:
At the end of one of the DLCs - Arrival I think - you are basically offered the 'chance' to take responsibilities for your decisons and actions - including the legal consequences. It isn't stated in that much detail but it is how I read it. So - maybe that's what he is referring to.
Also - it shouldn't be forgotten that we will have different lines and different texts depending on the decisions, characters, actions and what not and while this does not justify making thermal clips into ammo - it could explain some of the differences we saw.

It's been a while since I finished ME 2, so I could be wrong - but I'm quite positive that my Paragon Shepard got his Spectre status/Alliance military rank reinstated at some point.
As for the line you refer to ("I don't take orders from you anymore") it simply refers to the fact that when the Reaper invasion started Shep was being investigated, and suspended while pending. Don't forget Anderson's next line is "consider yourself reinstated" (paraphrase).
As for the dialogue, to be honest all ME games so far had cheesy lines, at least once in a while. Remember Kirrahe's *holding the line* speech? That flat monotone and the cliches.. It comes with the territory, I guess

Hi people,I am a newby on the ME community (this is my first post here) and one line that concern me about a conversation between Shepard and Anderson at the start of the ME3 Demo is when Anderson tells Shepard that the Reapers are only a sort of fantasy only living on Shep's mind, well all of us had seen Anderson at the end of the battle of the Citadel on ME1,then he actually has seen a real Reaper on first hand;may this would mean that Anderson denies the Reaper's menace too? or is only the storyline used for people who doesn't has played ME before?.Please help me with that question. Thanks a lot from Spain.
I'm not sure what line you refer to but I'm thinking you got it wrong
Anderson is the one official that alway backed Shep up about the Reaper threat.

I'm not sure what line you refer to but I'm thinking you got it wrongAt no point does Anderson say anything like that. To paraphrase what he said, it's something on the lines that the Alliance command did not see what Shepard had seen and thus are less inclined to take the necessary measures.

Anderson and Hackett. Hackett's always sort of been there behind the scenes pulling the strings to give Shep latitude to operate. He's just not as open about his support as Anderson is.

I'm not 100% clear on this anymore either, but what I do remember is Hackett telling Shepard at the end of Arrival to be ready to face trial "with your dress blues on", which clearly implies Shepard is an Alliance officer.
I'm really more confused as to wtf Anderson's doing on Earth. Why isn't he on the Citadel? What if I made him a council member at the end of ME1? Whassa goin' on?

In Mass Effect: Retribution, Captain Anderson resigns from his Citadel position (Advisor/Councillor)and sets out to pursue Cerberus who took captive an Alliance officer.. BioWare's way of streamlining the branched out story...

That's actually nice to know. Though with all the possibilities (well, ok the two main possibilities),
maybe we'll get some kind of explanation or at least some kind of
reference to that. By no means is the start of the demo also the start of the actual ME3 game so there is a lot of room for information.
As for Shepard's status - he/she can be reinstated as Specter but there is never any official reinstating of Shepard into the military. On the other hand - Shepard never really left, being considered Killed in Action. And the 'Dress Blues' can as well be a means to manipulate the jury when they accuse Shepard of - well, all those things he/she did - especially in Arrival. It's somewhat of a grayzone.
I pesonally take Anderson reaction - upon seeing him for the first time - as a hint that Shepard is no longer fully integrated into the Alliance military. He denies access to information because Shepard is dealing with Cerberus - but if there was still a clear line of command, I'd think that he would have ordered Shepard to cut ties and get back to Alliance command. Then again - maybe I'm just interpreting too much into it, heh.
Anyway - only a few more weeks and we'll know.

For one, it's a clip used for weapons to shoot bullets.
For two, you reload and fire more.
Based on this, it IS ammunition.

Right you are, plain forgot about ol' Hackett. Should probably go through the series again.

Besides, it could simply be an incorrect term used by soldiers in the line of fire. A lot quicker to just say "outta ammo".
