The majority of the community, myself included, believe that Shepherd moves and responds a little slow. Especially compared to the relatively smooth controls of the previous two games. Perusing the options (under extras) in the demo, I noticed a feature in the mouse section called Mouse Dampening. This feature is defaulted to on. Its in-game description reads as follows, "Turn this on for precision camera movement. The slower the mouse is moved, the slower the camera rotates. Fast movements result in fast camera rotations."
This feature sounds exactly like mouse acceleration, a common feature in most gaming mice, including mine. I believe that at least part of Shepard's sluggish controls are the result of the combination of the demo's mouse dampening and gaming mice acceleration. Slow movements are too slow; fast too jerky. After I disabled mouse dampening in game, Shepard responds MUCH better, but still not like its two predecessors.
Bottom line, I recommend everyone having issues with a sluggish Shepard to either turn off mouse dampening or their mouse's acceleration, usually through some sort of mouse control program located on the toolbar or start menu. Due to prevalence of gaming mice in the community, I also recommend to the developers to default the mouse dampening setting to off.

Mouse movement seems OK for me. But yeah, turn mouse accel off for more precise movements.
My gripe comes from the delay between holding shift and the character actually doing something. i.e. it takes a second for the game to decide whether you want to start storming, do a roll, snap to cover, etc. That delay really bugs me and makes things seem really sluggish
Why they thought it was a good idea to map the sprint and take cover actions to the same button os beyond me. Instead of running away from an enemy frag, you end up taking cover right next to it... *sigh...* it's frustrating.

All in all the controls seem a bit too slow even with the dampening off and the "spacebar for everything" has to go. Incredibly frustrating that shepard runs at the same pace every other game uses for walking.

we thank the spacebar for everything to our xbox and ps counterparts too many games these days limit pc users cause they can't be bothered adding a few more key binds however the forums are full of comments about this, i doubt bioware is gonna do annything about it:crying:
