Honestly I'm in the dark here, I want to find two of my friends but searching through Origin yields no results. Tried everything, both ways. Its the same in ME3 demo when I want to find friends - cant do it.

Does Origin require 'some time' to acknowledge new accounts to find 'em through search engine? I'm completely lost here.

Can someone explain it to me? Or is Origin Beta enough of an explanation?

I want to play with my friends but cant so the whole MP is pointless for us. And installing Origin to begin with. I was opposed to Origin in the first place but someone convinced me its tons of fun <_<

In advance I wanted to ask if it will be the same tons of fun with random ppl in MP? Coz its not fun when a common action is that higher lvl players leave the lobby after some lower lvl players join (or they kick them) - just because they are lower leveled characters. To be frank I can haandle missions better with lvl3 infiltrator than most higher lvl characters I've played with (but how long can you revive and run around if teammates are constantly down, cloak have its limits you know? I'm tired of playing medic).

Up to now I was always able to find anyone I looked for when using the search. But I may have not used it as close to account creation as you.

As for the elitism: It's kinda understandable. The game isn't much fun when playing with a team that has an overall low N7 rating and you can't blame people for not giving any lvl 3 player a chance to convince them they're able to play. Chances are they're not.

But in the end it all comes down to the match-making. Either there aren't enough players(and thus games) at the moment (I doubt it) or the match-making generally sucks (or is non-present at all).
I hope this will be different with the full game.
