Yes I find it annoying too how bad characters are really just misunderstood and need the loving kindness of a para to bring out the true them....sorry most bad people are bad people and they should have some characters that really are that and if you go in as the player thinking and playing as though they're just misunderstood people who weren't loved enough by their parents then they should use you and let you know it at some point in the game before they take your key item, shoot you, and say so long sucka. Unless you're the ren character who knows they're bad and wants them just like that then they'll just steal your key item and say it was fun.

Yes bad people have trauma, its what I meant by making the bad people complex, however there is a nature/nurture interplay here. Some people can have a predisposition towards being bad, psychopathy is a recognised condition in which individuals cannot feel empathy albeit this is a rare conddition. Take Viconia she grew up in a brutal and calculating drow culture but was a pretty bad person herself. Sometimes your upbringing can be so terrible that it corrupts you completely.

Viconia could be 'saved' as well though, and influenced to switch alignment  to true neutral.

The best thing about the Viconia romance, IMO, is that regardless of her alignment the relationship with her doesn't have a happy ending.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Baldur's_Gate_characters

Just read some of these descriptions' a womanising archer who will flirt with any of your female party members, a thrill-seeking dilettante who makes a living seducing rich women and living off their money, Edwin enjoys insulting the player character with his haughty and sarcastic remarks, and frequently mutters under his breath about how he intends to manipulate and overthrow his fellow party members.

All of this is awesome and so much more dynamic and although we see glimpses of this here and there (Isabella flirts in DA2 etc) we had all these interesting characters packed into one game. Now its one here and there. I know the morality systems have left the rpg universe but perhaps when developing characters it might help if devs envisage them as falling into these categories because now it seems to me they tend (especially with romanceable charaters) the personalities all seem to funnel to the same point (more or less)

You want Kai Leng as LI?

They wouldn't have him. I understand that once you kick his ass for trying to kill you he has a personality change and becomes all weepy and crap and regrets his butchering of aliens and turns vegan.Posted Image

Got a minute ? Might learn something.

I'm vegan, and I'm not "all weepy and crap".
The only thing I'm weepy about is that Zaeed Massani is not a love interest, heck, not even a squad member in ME3, because he has been and will be my one and only love interest.

(But we have 2 Jacobs: idiot Vega and a hysterical Prothy who looks more like a back-engineered collector.
"Wow!" -_-)

What I want to tell you is:
not all vegans are PETA-sexists and we're not "all weepy and crap".

I often find Kaidan-Garrus-Liara-Thane-loving, steak-eating girls are lot more weepy than me.

I should let you go.

Way to get worked up over a joke. You didn't exactly make a great case for yourself FYI.
