I swear, haters are going to hate.

TOR is fine. It's actually a very, VERY good game. It just lacks a deep endgame... which is typical for any new MMO.

People just complain for the sake of complaining. As the guy I talked to at Game Stop said, it's the internet people create their own reasons to be miserable and to make everyone else around them think the same.

To me it seems like all the hate is stemming from the Dragon Age fans who are still sore about the other half of Bioware that, in my opinion, makes poop baby games.

Basically they're taking all their rage on a game that will be phenomenal. And no, I haven't played the full game yet, but as a loyal Mass Effect fan, I don't need to. I know they put their hearts and souls into this ever expanding world. Three years of development opposed to less than one definitely shows me that this title will be nothing like Dragon Age. Which in my opinion, is a very weak title with a lackluster story, terrible graphics, sub-par voice acting, and a mediocre score.

Using DA 2 as a reason to be negative about ME 3 makes no sense in my opinion.  I am a fan of both franchises (more so with Mass Effect but I have poured a ton of hours into the Dragon Age games) but I am not seeing alot of similarities with either franchise as they both have gameplay, setting, and artistic differiences that are vastly different from one another.  Whatever criticisms people have for DA 2 and many of them are valid do not apply to Mass Effect.  While you have plenty of cross over fans such as myself you also have plenty of fans of both franchises that are not fans of the other franchise for whatever reason and those fans could care less about what the other franchise is doing so bringing up what one franchise is doing is irrelevant when discussing the other franchise.

i think thats because people get this idea that since its a bioware game they may assume all games are made by the same team. i think thats the reason why people spew the garbage they do like omg me3 wil be like da2

Exactly, people fail to take into account that the Dragon Age team is composed of entirely different people than the Mass Effect team and that DA 2 was made on a much shorter timetable than Mass Effect 3 will be.

Well since Bioware hooked up with EA they have been putting out a lot of dookie so I don't have much faith in Bioware releasing a quality game anymore. The demo for ME3 certainly did nothing to restore my faith in them either. The ME3 demo was horrid.

The demo was ok, but it wasn't anything special. Either Bioware's marketing department is intetionally trying to ruin a great game, or the actual game is Dragon Age 2 status.

If it's the latter, we go the way of TORtanic and run like hell for the lifeboats. Nerds and gamers first, screw the women and children.

I mostly try to avoid the forums during this period. Fact is, people always come on here and try to make their opinions facts, when really they aren't. It's incredibly easy to take a product and rip it to shreds, and thats all (vocal) fanboys seem to do, day in and out.

Biggest ex would be DA2. Ya, there's a ton wrong with it, but people should be looking at what it did right and how they can use that as a basis for future success.

Of course, the game isn't even out yet for Mass Effect 3, and people are basing this off a couple hours of a demo. Wait until the full game comes out before screaming doom.

P.S. Yes I'm aware that people are instantly going to point to the DA2 demo as an excuse to start bashing this game as well, which I think is unfair tbh. It's the one and only time that Bioware has EVER let me down on anything, so I'm more than willing to give them a second chance, especially considering that the dev teams working on DA and ME are completely different

The guy at game stop sounds like he has sense... odds are he  won;t be there long because there pay is crap.

Hating is the new Fad because everyone is trying to so cutting edge and clever...

People just need to enjoy **** ...life is a little to short for all this nonsense.

See what I mean about that hater statement? Robs there to prove just how moronic the internet is.

Sorry you don't like TOR there, Rob, but 2 million people disagree with you. And if you're one of those 2 million, you invalidate your own argument by staying.

This is a cracked glass barrier situation. Flawless glass is invisible, so a person captured in a glass cage utopia doesn't realize the truth of it until they hit the wall or it cracks.

From then on out they never focus on the fact that they've enjoyed their lives up until that point, they are just fixated that there was a wall 'holding them back' and they spend their entire focus hitting their heads against the wall, bemoaning the flaw in their paradise.

Once the illusion is gone, all those people see are the flaws. Truly a miserable bunch.

I don't know where all the hate comes from but I sure find it entertaining.
I'm enjoying myself before the game comes out in which I'll be enjoying as well.

^ this

Both franchises have taken a drastic turn under EAs supervision. That is the common root here.
-Dialog has become cheesier
-Character designs cater to (seemingly) profitable demographics, which includes ****ty outfits and huge breast for women and brute muscle mountain males
-main stories are simpler, shorter and lack a satisfying arc
-logic, continuity more and more neglected
- D L C frenzyyyyyyyyyyy (getting worse every game)

These are some points both franchises have in comon now. I will not cancel my pre-order because I never had one. I don't trust EA and DA2 has shown how big the difference between expectations and delivered game can be. It's hard to know what you are getting today. So I wait and see, and meanwhile continue to criticis what I don't like because I will never lower my expectations and help with the degeneration of society.

Geez there is TONS of haterism lately on this forum IT WILL BURN US ALL AND NOT EVEN BAKE COOKIES. Anyway ultimately I think what it comes down to is we need to acquire the game and make our judgements. I know its hard especially when you have a demo, which in many cases reflects whats gonna be in the actual game. Im hoping its from an older version of the game when it was being made if not well ima still enjoy the game to its fullest. People may be greatly concerned, but at least try to tone down some of the concerns or else it just appears to be hate.

It did not cure cancer.

The nerve of it! <_<

Personally I don't like The Old Republic because it's PC exclusive and an MMO, therefore useless to me, but I simply didn't buy it, I didn't spend all my time in the forums ****ing about it.

see what you have to understand is that they did not enjoy in the game - so what they are going to do is make everyone else life completely miserable because  they did not enjoy the game or get what they want.   This is completely different from having a constructive critism which more otfen  not gets drown in the sea of Temper tantrums that get thrown.

There isn't much hate for ME3 in the real world. It's mostly just on this forum, which is the most miserable group of complainers I've ever seen. It's why most of us who joined before ME2 are long gone.

LOL people so quick to judge. Of course they are not going to give us much in the demo and as for you that QQ you expect half the game already with all functions. At least we got a little sample because it's not like they had to give us anything right now. Frankly I really enjoyed the demo and the music score is so totally epic. Mansell does an awesome job! Hope they release this on cd. I just wonder when people will be satisfied. We live in a day that modern technology gives us more than we can ever imagine and even when we get great things people still want more and more and **** and complain cause its not good enough. Lol well go back to playing marbles, match box cars and barbie dolls. Maybe you should go to the library for once in your life and actually learn something useful like how to make a great video games.........lmfao. When you get there and are so awesome let me know so I can invest in your worthless company.........trolls Bioware you have done an awesome job with all that you do. One appreciative customer. :)

Post of the month! :) I salute you, sir.

I'd say most hate is born of fear, and with legitimate reason, this is the last in the series, there is no second chance to get it right.
