This.  I have been playing computer games since the 70s (original Pong owner here), and I understand the nostalgia factor.  But there are plenty of retro-games out there for that market.  If you do not like where BioWare is going, go play those games.

THANK YOU! Someone with some sane arguments.

If you hate the current generation of games and can't appreciate how newer games are better - they're easier on the eyes, have lots of cool cinematics and really try to make you apart of the action - then there's nothing for you to enjoy.

We don't need someone with a negative opinion ruining everyone else's fun.

 expect competence is one thing, What I see is a dumb empty complain, coming from people that don't know what they want. Everything is bad, everything is ridiculous, every history is dumb, every single peace of gameplay is COD kind of s**t gameplay. Nothing is good enough. What you guys want don't exist, is a unreachable expectation. Don't matter what game developers do, will be aways lame for you guys.


 Considering this, why anyone should care about your opinions? We already know, everything we like is lame, everything is COD bull****, you guys know better. Okay, now get over it.

Huge failure? Where the hell did you come to that conclusion? It sold more copies than any other MMO so far (with the exception of WoW ofc) and also has more subscribers than any other mmo than WoW, if that's your definition of a failure then I really want to know waht your definition of a success is.

No, a game's sucess is made by the reviews, sales and awards. Whiny people over the internet don't decide what's a fail or not.

It seems I have to beat some sense into you.

A game's quality is DEFINIITELY NOT measured by reviews since it's a common business for reviewers  to give out biased and unqualifying positive reviews for, what else?, money.

Secondly, SALES have nothing to do with quality, they are actually a great indication of how successful a companie's marketing is, how great their EPIC TRAILER DERP are.

It has also to do with how mature and able of critical thinking is the target group of the game.

tldr; see CoD.

And awards?
Awards by whom? Awards mean nothing in the game industry fool.

Ok, why don't you tell me how a game's is successful? I am sure you'll give me a very intelligent answer so you think you're such a "old and loyal" Bioware fan.

Plus, COD is successful. It might not appeal to you, it might not be your type of game but it is successful. Just cuz you don't play it doesn't mean it's not successful.

The only reason COD is successful is because the idiots who buy them don't know how to handle there money and 98% of them are stupid teens.

I assumed by you quoting that, that was your issue with ME3. Which is absurd to think you would recieve all that from a demo.

Great, another thread by a someone who doesn't see that Bioware wanted to make a shooter with RPG elements, not Baldur's Gate in Space or an updated KOTOR clone. When are these so called oldschool fans, and I use that term loosely since I've played every Bioware game, realize Bioware is going to make the games they want to make? If you don't like where they are going, don't buy their games.

Who wouldnt forgive bioware for what exactly?

I like many others have been playing Bioware games for many years and other than DA2 have liked their games including ME3 demo.

Maybe its because i couldnt give a monkeys who publishes games or that ME3 blurs the lines between genres (which i think is great tbh), but i liked the demo bar very very few small things.

I am going to reserve judgement until the finished game. But it is painful when the great fall (and most do when big business get involved).

I mean, I still respect and admire what bioware are able to create (mass effect has truly been something special), but its so sad when its so clear that the talent are not allowed to bloom fully and "complete" the work as it should be.

Well actually he's not alone. But times are such. Unless they some day develop a console that is cheap but at the same time with a hardware that doesn't restrict game developers as much as they do now we will mostly get the same with every game. Because story, dialogues and choices eat hardware for breakfast and everything else will suffer from it. So they have to find a balance which will always leave someone feel disappointed.

The series did start on 360 exclusively after all. The PC ME1 port didn't happen untill way later. Though I do sort of agree.

I am seeing the trilogy thru. What happens after that depends as much on other developers as it does with bioware.

Xbox 360 version is what sells the most. Seems reasonable to me.

digital sales are not calculated like the console sales at least i don't think so technically your wrong.
