THANK YOU! Someone with some sane arguments.

If you hate the current generation of games and can't appreciate how newer games are better - they're easier on the eyes, have lots of cool cinematics and really try to make you apart of the action - then there's nothing for you to enjoy.

We don't need someone with a negative opinion ruining everyone else's fun.

OH NOES!!!!

Someone with differnet opinions than me! Someoen that doesn't like what I do!

MY LIFE IS RUINED!!!!

EDIT:
Also, a logical fallcy - not all new games are like CoD. Hence, why someone can like new games, but not like a specific type of new games.

Ya I get what your trying to say and honestly the last great game they put out was DA:O, but I'm still going to get this for 2 reasons:
1- I already played the other 2 games
2- If it sucks then this plus DA2 will have killed all hope I have in bioware thus freeing up a ton of time/money that I wont waste on future games from them.

You forgot SWTOR.. yeah I know it's an MMO but still.. its made by BW and that game was a HUGE failure and if this trend continues then I have lost all my faith in BW.

Huge failure? Where the hell did you come to that conclusion? It sold more copies than any other MMO so far (with the exception of WoW ofc) and also has more subscribers than any other mmo than WoW, if that's your definition of a failure then I really want to know waht your definition of a success is.

^ This. I would love to hear your reasons on why you think TOR failed.

Are two measuring a game's success by its sales?

No, a game's sucess is made by the reviews, sales and awards. Whiny people over the internet don't decide what's a fail or not.

It seems I have to beat some sense into you.

A game's quality is DEFINIITELY NOT measured by reviews since it's a common business for reviewers  to give out biased and unqualifying positive reviews for, what else?, money.

Secondly, SALES have nothing to do with quality, they are actually a great indication of how successful a companie's marketing is, how great their EPIC TRAILER DERP are.

It has also to do with how mature and able of critical thinking is the target group of the game.

tldr; see CoD.

And awards?
Awards by whom? Awards mean nothing in the game industry fool.

I can't believe I actually answered to this guy.

okay, so reviews means nothing (yeah, every review was bought by developers, is impossible that a reviewer liked a game you hated. And the USA government is hidding a alien conspiracy from us), Sales means nothing, awards means nothing, a lot of people liking the game means nothing, but you opinion means something? Who are you? Chuck Norris?

Ok, why don't you tell me how a game's is successful? I am sure you'll give me a very intelligent answer so you think you're such a "old and loyal" Bioware fan.

Plus, COD is successful. It might not appeal to you, it might not be your type of game but it is successful. Just cuz you don't play it doesn't mean it's not successful.

Let's see here. Successful is quite a subjective term.

As far as I see it, COD was never successful. They just made alot of money.

No back to you, succession can be legitimately assessed by the balance and advancement in technical terms (in which department ME3 clearly lacks).

Further than that, (and most importantly) by how deep and challenging the GAMEPLAY is, which everybody knows isn't the strong asset of the ME series.

There are secondary features too, like music, story and dialogue.

That's how direct assessment of a game works.

Other than that though, indirectly through the years, you can judge how worthy a game was in its lifetime by judging how the general responce from the fans is (not just first month sales), how it affected the gaming industry and how it aged.

In this modern day and age, you can pre-judge how good a game's gonna be by how much of sellouts the developers are. Keep that in mind too.

Step up.

Im with you on this i like Bioware but im not buying any ME stuff after 3 mainly because i rather the franchise ends here and they make a new IP that will make me go crazy kinda like how when i first heard about ME1 and went crazy cause it looked awesome :P.

Once I'm done with ME3 I can finally be done with EA.

I don't even like world of warcraft, but I hope SWTOR sinks and sets EA on the path to bankruptcy.

Mass Effects faults and yes it does have its faults have nothing to do with EA or the COD crowd. Those are easy targets and are just said so most people don't have to say... OMG Bioware did a sub par story. Instead actually calling Bioware on some things they did ... like the Suicide Mission and Shepard Death /2 year time skip.

It seems their recent failure is an excuse to cut them some slack, forgetting the quality of games these guys used to create.

The CoD and the rest of the "new audience" is thrilled with the outcome of the last games, and this demo too, I guess so this is enough for Bioware

Everyone's that satisfied with the level Bioware is, in these 2 last years, should know that they're actually hurting them, and pointing at you, older fans, you should be ashamed of yourselves for being content with this.

Just being honest and saying what every old and faithful (and disapointed) fan of Bioware's thinks.

The Video game media sites gave Bioware a pass on Mass Effect 1 claiming it had a great story when in fact the combat and game play of that game was a big pile of steaming ass garbage . and in ME 2 it got better . well get with the times because Bioware as a developer better start making game play and combat that is either on par or at Gears of War's level or else they will be called out for it this time around .

Great, another thread by a someone who doesn't see that Bioware wanted to make a shooter with RPG elements, not Baldur's Gate in Space or an updated KOTOR clone. When are these so called oldschool fans, and I use that term loosely since I've played every Bioware game, realize Bioware is going to make the games they want to make? If you don't like where they are going, don't buy their games.

Amen for that, and a Hallelujah!!

People just don't get that ME is a hibrid RPG/Shooter.

ME2 is a great game even though it's not what a lot of people wanted with the stripped out RPG elements. DA2 on the other hand is a terrible game. In my opinion you can't compate the two.

This is how I see it.  I know this is a no spoilers but in the example I can't help it but I believe most people have played the demo already so I will include some spoilers.

In the Demo Bioware wanted to show a sample of the gameplay.... i.e combat mechanics.  If you notice on the second mission on the salarian homeworld the dialogue with wrex on the landing pad is cut.  you're talking to the salarians and wrex, it fades before wrex even finishes talking, then you are talking to Mordin.  Obviously a large section has been cut.  besides you already have Liara and Garrus in your party.  A ton of dialogue and story has been cut that will be in the full game.

What Bioware wanted to show in the demo, is the combat changes and multiplayer.  Therefore, for the story you need to wait for the full game.  Personally I feel I am going to love this game.

The only reason COD is successful is because the idiots who buy them don't know how to handle there money and 98% of them are stupid teens.

Calling them idiots just shows arrogance. My cousin has COD games and his 24 and is a bussiness man (who is at least 10x richer than me). And I knew a guy from school who played COD games and got around 10 A*-A in his GCSE and was given a scholarship for a college.
