MassEffect 3's Graphics and Facial Graphics...

I don't know what others think, or if this has been brought up yet, but MassEffect 3 graphics look a little bland, kind of cartoony, like they are half DragonAge-2 graphics and half MassEffect-1 graphics... I really hope this is because of it being a demo.
And the facial graphics seem a bit off as well and not as detailed as they were in ME2... Like when "Shep" and "Andy" were talking, their lips looked off with their eyes and brow not moving at all.

I can't understand why they have to change thinks that are very good to start with. Lets just hope that the final game will be better, but I doubt it will.

I will become very disappointed if the graphics is like in the demo. ME1 and 2 looks much better.

Bioware seems to have quite the track record of breaking things that weren't broken before.

No, Xbox has 512MB ram that is shared between the GPU and CPU. PS3 has 256MB for CPU and 256MB for GPU.MarcoItaly wrote...
Graphic is worst because texture are same between ps3 and xbox, xbox has near double of GPU RAM than ps3 but they make same texture and use same unreal engine 3 settings, the FOW (field of view) is smaller than me2 , it's a pity. me2 looks better, sigh.
I think that some spec maps are lackign detail and make the skin look like plastic, especially under certain light.

I think that they build first ps3 version and use the same texture for the xbox360 version or anyway developers makes the 360 version with the same quality texture from ps3.
it's a pity but allready know that I will play me3 a lot of times .
Unreal engine 3 is worst than version 2? Sure, because they want the engine faster with even more 3d objects on screens. And remember the unreal engine is multi-platform, I don't think they develop 360 version different than ps3, they starts from a very common specs for faster developing.
What makes me2 great is the story, the music, the cutscenes. Me2 italian version has a lot of bug, cutscene out of sync, no audio and more but I play me1 and me2 a lot of time.
c ya.

Now on to the subject in hand. I noticed as well that the look of ME3 is "plastic" compared to previous games and I've come to the conclusion that this is because of the lack of a film grain effect. Seriously try it yourselves guys, put Mass Effect 2 in your system of choice, remove the grain filter and you will see that the game has pretty much the same plastic feel of Mass Effect 3.
That is why I wish that the retail version of Mass Effect 3 includes the film grain option that is not in the demo.
Just my 2 cents.

The film grain effect has always annoyed me so I have always played without it and I do not see this like plastic concept everybody is coming to? Is it to down to the buildings or something or the actual characters? Personally Mass Effect is the second best looking game using the Unreal Engine besides Gears of War...because it's being made by the people who made the engine...(Mass Effect have better characters at times cause its more realistic in sense of theme compared to Gear's comic book style macho muscele men)

You've got it backwards. Nearly all multiplatform developers build the Xbox 360/PC version first. 360 and PC have minimal differences in terms of coding, so the port is usually focused on UI and performance. However, the PS3 is an absolute nightmare to code on; it's far easier to just build on the PC/360, and then convert the code with a few opimizations (e.g. the improved animations and slightly better textures the PS3 can pull off.) That's part of why the PS3 has been having so many fps issues with recent games; since it can't allocate RAM as necessary, Developers are forced to opt for slightly better graphics at the cost of performance. The only way they might be able to improve performance is by re-coding it for the PS3 which is, again, a fate worse than death.
