Consoles are holding back the true potential video games could be on PC.

As a pc gamer myself I'm throwing in my support for the PS3 gamers, they keep getting the bums rush on ports and they don't need comments like this.

Agree with everything said; THEY made the choice to port Mass Effect to PlayStation, so it's their JOB to make sure it's up to snuff, that's why they get a paycheck every week!

It's absolutely ridiculous that this late in the generation, devs are STILL skimping out on getting their PS3 versions up to par. You really are a disgrace to the industry.

I don't know anything about the FPS issue but for the graphics comparison xbox just has a bit more contrast. Is a little bit more contrast going to destroy your experience? People look at these comparisons as if they are so different. As if on ps3 everything is LOD'd or something.

Honestly OP?
The game looks better on PS3 when you look at the comparison you provided.
Aside for different color levels that are caused by a miniscule fact that the video output is slightly different between them and resolved by some simple TV calibration...
What i was saying - when you actually compare the pictures more closely you'll notice that the PS3 has a lot softer shadows than x360 which are jagged and fugly - it's especially noticable in close-up pictures.

You missed the part where the PS3 version runs at 20 frames per second and the 360 one at 30 frames per second.

Oh I agree,  PS3 really get the shaft even moreso then us PC gamers I feel for them and fully support PS3 getting more attention from Bioware.

Out of the consoles, it looks better on xbox.

In before PC elitists spouting how we shouldn't be on consoles in the first place.

I wouldn't say that.  I think each game should be optimized for each platform it's gonna be on.  Whether that be console or PC.

I have more than one PC and more than one console.  I just prefer my games on PC when possible.  If a game looks and plays better on another platform I own, I get it for that.

I did play the PS3 demo and it's pretty bad in comparison to the PC.  I don't known an Xbox to make that comparison from console to another.  PC demo was beautiful and has only fueled my desire to play ME3 even more.  PS3 demo was inferior in every way....I'm not saying that because it is on a console.  I'd consider the PS3 demo of ME3 to be below the standards of other PS3 titles.  I was glad when I was done playing it for the omi-blade daggers in KoA.

I'm confused. Your whole post is a plea for the developers to tell you whether the PS3 would be equivalent to the Xbox...

And you quote a bioware developer who said just that.

I'm not sure what you expect to get here? They said they would be identical and until the game has been released, you don't know that they aren't

Do you want BioWare to just tell you what they've already told you?

^^ have you played the demo? Because if you did you would notice there are 10 frames missing from the ps3 version....

i'd say thats a huge difference to look at 20 days before the release of the game that has already gone GOLD ie: nothing changes anymore.

So us asking whether this demo is representative on what the final version plays like is absolutely 100% reasonable...

And please dont sound like Bioware are the epitome of truth... they said we wont notice a difference 4-5 months ago, and we see the results now... please PR talk can do you wonders, and our eyes certainly see the "truth".

we're not asking for bioware to confirm what it already has, just to explain why they said we "won't see a difference" when there's a very CLEAR difference in frame rates? (i'm not nit picking on the shadows/textures etc but the FPS is really terribad in the demo) if that's what i can expect the retail version perform like i'll simply get the PC edition of the game.

The sooner you realise that Bioware doesn't care about its customers the better.

It's obviously not going to be like this in the final game, this is just a demo. It's not the final build.

Yes.
I want a BioWare dev to assure me of what BioWare stated. We made threads, sent PMs, but nothing came out of it.

Can't blame us for wanting some reassurance after the comparisons. That's literally all I want.

Like people have said, it's just a demo port. I've said it myself. I am not speaking for myself only, I am speaking for plenty of PS3 players.

As for the PC deal; I have a laptop that runs Direct X11 games fine, but not in the best quality. I also prefer to play with a controller. PC version of ME3 does not support it.

I can't comment on the framerate,

But the graphics look exactly, EXACTLY the same between the two versions. In that link you posted literally the only difference is that the XBox one is darker. If it bothers you that much lower the gamma on your PS3.

As for frame rate... well I can't comment, but I hope any issues are sorted out for launch. I know these kind of issues exist... My cousin has Dark Souls for 360 and I have it for PS3, and the 360 version has terrible frame rate issues.

Let me add a little something here.
I live in Argentina. Games here, the standard versions? They are about 120-130 U$D.
That's about double the price most people pay.

Please understand where the concern is coming from, at least from my point of view.

I personally believe it's shamefur that we have sub 20 fps in a game that doesn't even look that great. I mean I know console games that look much better than mass effect and that have much more stuff on the screen but they still have 30 fps minimum.

Is engine the problem? Or did BioWare forgot how to program?
