Seriously, this is not about whining over not having God Mode on insanity, it's about the class feeling extremely awkward compared to the previous version and it's just not fun anymore, which sucks when it was your favorite.
I understand that it's all subjective and everything, but I feel as though the sentinel is exactly what it should be now. I've always played my sentinel as a character that has high hp/shields, assault rifle/smg, and uses warp/throw/overload. To me, that's still exactly what it is. Just because I can't run out in the open and pewpew everything on insanity with energy drain doesn't mean anything....it's the exact same class. Saying that one explosion mechanic and the shield recharge make your class is kind of silly.

Tech armor detonation nerf is not the only change made to the class, and I don't feel it's silly at all to find it clumsy and awkward to play, especially coming right off ME2. I sincerely hope these things will be looked at, and I don't think you people who like the changes would hate any fixes to things pointed out here, you know?

The design is absolutely ghastly, is unfun, and offers no significant advantage through it's primary power. Having to manually detonate the armor? That wouldn't be so bad if it actually did damage, or at least partially refilled your shields.
The problem with this class is that the distinction between caster mode and tank mode is too little. Tank mode with armor on, you should take far more punishment, be able to gain shields back by turning the armor on or at least detonating it, and have powerful melees. Caster mode should simply be an average mix of tech and biotic with your regular bad shielding. But as it stands, non-tank mode is the only real worthwhile mode, and as this class is more or less founded on tech-armor, it ruins everything it was trying to be in the first place.
Tech armor is simply awful, and if you mistakenly believe this is somehow balanced or fun, give your head a shake.

The explosion mechanic and shield recharge DID make the class. It is not the exact same class. I would love to see just how bad you are at multiplayer playing a sentinel with your delusion about this class.

If you were a noob it made the class just lol@you. I tried making a valid argument in a polite manner and you want to flame so I'm just going to call you a ****** and pass your comments as invalid. Just because you can't play the class because you're bad doesn't mean I can't. In fact....my delusion seems to be truth seeing as I've played the class the exact same from ME1 all the way to ME3 on insanity. Your response is a joke.

Irrelevant comment aside, go ahead and show me why tech-armor is worthwhile in multiplayer. Go ahead. I'd love to see. Any enemy takes off your shields in two to three hits, even with it on. With the armor then made redundant, you are left with two abilities that matter. Overlord and Warp for instance together? Whoop de do, any engineer is made instantly better than you. Any Adept is made better. Vanguard are vastly superior.
The class is not fun to play, and the armor is virtually useless no matter what difficulty you're playing on. And let's not talk about single player or insanity for reference, because it's not hard to do insanity runs with -any- class.

Edit: Glad to see the whiny stereotypical gaming community I expect to see in MMO's has made it to Mass Effect thanks to the new multiplayer.

No, the sentinel is still by and large useless and the terrible damage reduction does nothing to offset the abysmal cooldowns. Bragging about insanity runs means nothing because insanity isn't even that difficult in the first place. This class is broken. This class is even more broken for multiplayer where you see virtually no reduction in damage, which makes it's main power pointless.

This generally summarizes how I feel. The opportunity cost of investing in tech armor is way too high. If you're going to be casting spells there is no point in putting points into an ability that will, on average, lower your damage output, and it doesn't really succeed as a tanking ability.

This ad hominem is without merit. These people criticizing the gameplay change have clearly played Mass Effect in the past.

I thought the sentinel was the easiest class to clear insanity with. Due to the forced loadout, you can exploit the rank 5 throw in combo with liara (commit to pure biotic for cooldows on singularity) to basically destroy everything. All while keeping tech shield on and, thus, taking less damage than every other class.
If you kept tech armor off you would be able to use throw about twice as often and would be able to do far more damage much more quickly.

Rank 5 of throw makes it so if you use throw as a biotic combo it resets the cooldown. Thus, you just cast singularity with Liara and cast throw on floaters incurring no cooldown at all. Tech armor delay only comes into play if you miss.TheKillerAngel wrote...

The only shooting I had to do was against the atlas and a little bit against the occasional straggler who didn't get deshielded by the Biotic bomb or Garrus.
