There is a topic about this "issue". A lot of players have confirmed that have noticed increase in difficulty, but bioware say nothing has been changed.


I too noticed a slight difficulty increase and so has my house mate. Im PC, he's Xbox.

I remember playing a Silver where we had to hold a position and the wave went with the usual stream of minons + Banshee, Brute + Banshee, Brute + Banshee, Brute + Banshee, Banshee... you get the idea. Could of been a glitch or a stealth difficulty buff  but I have been seeing some suprising wipes over the last few days on silver and it cant all be down to bad players/team work. Anyone else failed on wave 3-4 on silver? o.O

The problem I have with the Silver and Gold maps is the reduced damage my powerful weapons inflict and the increased damage my character takes.

What is the point of wave 11 on gold?
I know when you play on 18-19th level, it gets you a lot more experience and make leveling faster or for achievement.
BUT
Usually people don't play on gold unless they are 20 and achievement is one-time thing.
I wonder why people just don't die after completing objective at wave 10.

I think making to LZ should give us some kind of bonus, like
+ 10% more money or increased dmg on next game. It just wrong as it is now.

I started a gold match and everyone left while it was loading so I was left by myself I killed 2 people before dying lol

Yep, I thought about that too. 2 brutes on 5th wave then next wave we got 2 brutes + 1 banshee + lots of ravagers/swarmers (task: uploading data) then all 4 of us dead.
On Bronze! :crying:

Last night we had a banshee on wave 2 on silver...only one of 'em so it wasn't a big deal...but stil...WAVE 2?!?!?

EDIT: but then all we had on wave 10 were 3 Brutes...no ravs...no banshees...just 3 Brutes and a hoard of mobs...

Umm...thats the point of it being a HIGHER DIFFICULTY.

I'm sorry, but you only get 70,000+ credt for a gold as is...if you split that...well, a smart person would know that 70,000/4 is 17,500...which is about how much you get for...a bronze match...lets use our brains...and just not follow your advice

The difficulty has DEFINITELY changed. A couple days ago, my Melee-only Infiltrator could one hit anything other than a Brute, Banshee, Atlas or Prime while cloaked in Silver. Now after the patch was downloaded EVERYTHING with more than just health survives. It's really quite annoying because that renders the character mostly useless since I put all my points into melee everything. It wasn't that overpowered before unless playing on Bronze. I don't see why this change was needed.

I think your playing Infiltrator wrong if your going Melee-only. Regardless, your tactic should still work once you down your target's protection.

Shield gating?


The Sheild Gate needs to die.
Its stupid. it doesn't even make sense how half a bar of shield/barrier, can absorb a shot from a Widow V while cloaked. Instead it should be more of a Shields increase resistance to Such and such, just like armor, and barriers are resistand to other such and such. Because as it stands...Sheilds and barriers are the EXACT SAME THING...and it serves no purpose to have to things that are supposed to be different...doing the exact same things...

EDIT: It used to be that tech and power weapons could bring shields down fairly quick, and biotics and rapid fire weapons for barriers. and etc. but now...doesn't matter if its rapid fire or not...barriers and shields go simply by the number damage done...

So a random question. A friend and I have noticed that Gold matches seem to be a bit more difficult. Not sure if the Resurgence download had any bearings on it, but we've went from beating 4 out of 5 Gold matches to 1 out of 5.

Now? Yes. Before? No. Like I said, I could take out anything save Atlas, Banshee, Brute, Prime in one hit. And infiltrator is the only one who can get the hit off without being noticed. It's a riskier play style, but when an "Eliminate the targets" would come up (unless it was one of the 4 aforementioned classes), I could have it done, with no team assistance, in under a minute. The whole thing. It was a fun class to play. But now, anything that doesn't have JUST health survives. EVERYTHING. Nemesis, Centurion, Pyro, Hunter, Phantom, Marauder, Ravager. It's annoying because it went from a moderately useful/badass class that was really fun to play to a class that can pick off base-level troops one at a time and finish off stronger opponents with lots of help from team mates. So unless I promote the infiltrator and redo that character, it's completely useless in anything above Bronze. It was already mostly useless in Gold, so it's not like it was overpowered. It was just a fun, alternative way to play on Silver, and, I guess in keeping with its new image, BioWare decided to ruin it. I don't know why the Balance Log thread hasn't been updated yet because it's a very noticeable change.

And what's shield gating?

It's a gameplay mechanic, it's not supposed to make intutive sense any more than the notion of medigel being able to heal a pure synthetic Geth like any other organic.

Did they change XP too? Me and my brother just did Bronze on Hydra (it's supposed to be extra XP right now) and we got to the end of Wave 10 both times and each time we got 60,000XP. Seems kind of low for the end of wave 10, even without extra XP. Wtf?

EDIT: Nvm. We were using low level characters. It's been a while since I've actually failed to complete Bronze. Didn't realize the endgame bonuses were such a large chunk.

The gel DOES make sense if you read the info about Medi-gel in 1, 2 and 3...kinda
But that aside...if a single shot takes out 90% of a shield...wouldn't it make sense that the next shot takes out the last 10% of the shield plus...i dunno...a nice chunk of health?!?

I don't really understand Shield Gate, I don't think I've ever come across it that I can outright remember - I routinely shoot things with shields and have damage carry over to health or armor if it doesn't do an outright kill when I'm sniping with my Javelin.

That's apparently not the case anymore. I'm seeing it in Silver and Bronze now as well. That might be the only thing that's changed, but it's annoying as **** and is proving to be very frustrating. Might as well give all those enemies two lives because they could literally be at one sliver of shield and still take no damage no matter what you do unless it's a rocket.

EDIT: It's not listed in the Balance Log, so hopefully it was a mistake that will be corrected. It's made Bronze and Silver both much more difficult, and not in a fun challenging way. Especially when that difficulty comes from my team mates overestimating what they can do and getting killed. 9 times out of 10 if I die it's while reviving someone or while trying to get to someone to revive them. The majority of the population doesn't seem to have adapted whatsoever to the change and I can't go more than 2 hours of this game anymore without being ready to throw my TV and XBox out the window. I need to find some decent XBox players to play with so I don't get stuck with random retards with no grasp on how the game currently works. Or, you know, they could set it back to how it was before and then everyone seems to be mildly efficient.

If you have a good system Silver can be easy. You need most palyers to have rockets. I do find Geth a nightmare ie Pryo the flamer. Plus Beache for Repaer.
