Got to Gold, Wave 10.
The amount of Phantoms was insane. That and Atlases. We seriously didn't have enough of those missile launchers to make it even matter. Eventually, we started grouping the Atlases, whenever possible, so that one missile would kill two atlases.

Before we died, we probably had like 5 phantoms surrounding us, after killing around 5 other phantoms in the same wave. And Atlases? There had to be at least 5. Countless Guardians, nemeses, and centurions. Remember, this is on Wave 10, and wave 10 alone. This doesn't count any of the previous Gold Waves.

We attempted Gold difficulty again, but I think we were mentally exhausted that we couldn't really go past Wave 5. All our adrenaline needed to complete Gold difficulty was spent on that last run.

The plus side? Silver is fairly easy. The bad side? Bronze is a cakewalk and boring.

How about adding another (behind the scenes) difficulty adjuster if the group has less than 4 people? Or implementing splitscreen so I don't have to wait for five minutes to find a fourth man, two people on my screen, plus the two online, BAM, ready to go.

If its cakewalk and easy, finish the levels all alone, I want to watch.

Bronze is made for an all random quick match and new/low lvl players, nothing for the right setup (lvl 20, right classes, all in voicechat, possibly a set team).

Silber is the same, except for high level.

For a set team, you got gold.

One thing they do need to change its the N7 lvl and make it geared to stuff that is equiped on the person not just what the person has unlocked wise. Ive seen lvl ones with a N7 score of 50 and you see their equipment and they are running lvl 1 stuff. It should be tuned to what the character has equiped and lvl of the character

Sorry, but I disagree, the fact that it's hard is a huge part of why I'm still playing it and to tone it down would defeat so much of the purpose. I just beat bronze solo, not easy but it can be done, a non-chalenging encounter is why playing as Shep exists.

As far as difficulty goes - definitely shouldn't change these levels too much. Turrets and phantoms are terrifying, but challenge is a good thing.

Bronze is great when starting a new class and/or trying out a different weapon/setup, or when running with random people. Silver is a fun challenge for a mid-level team, or a pretty solid challenge for a smaller team of 2 at level 17+. Gold is crazy hard.

I'd like to see more options when setting up the game, for instance maybe one to limit the amo stations. So they have limited uses and respawn after 3 rounds or something. Would be a different sort of challenge, having to shift position around the map to reach viable amo supplies, and make that amo equipment thing useful.

I would like to see some more stats online. I know MP isn't a main priority - I've preordered for the SP. But y'all have something surprisingly good here. If you could have game stats like bungie had for halo that'd be really cool.

Playing is very interesting. But difficulty too high even on bronze. Considering that difficulty of game isn't regulated by level of players even on bronze you lose is more often, than win.
Selection of players too isn't clear. Such impression that absolutely isn't present players, very often incomplete commands and all are very captious. On game search a lot of time leaves and considering difficulty is a averiage 2 games at one hour turn out. It is very bad.
My opinion that because of high level of difficulty and bad selection of players multiplayer will quickly bother.

High level of difficulty? Come on, as soon as you get past lvl 10 you can pretty much solo bronze.

But they should reduce number of enemies or their health if you are only playing as a 2-3 player team.

AND the most annoying thing is when lvl 1 player get pitted in silver challenges. I need at least 20 minutes to find a game with 4 players above lvl 10 who want to play silver challenge.

Agreed. Trying to find a game without lvl 1 players trying to play silver is annoying and time consuming, maybe a level prefrance setting to pair each player with the group of their choice level?

Hmmmm, is there anything before bronze? cause i am getting my butt kicked regardless, maybe its the lack of teamwork seen so far, so i am hoping there to be a guild or clan thing for those that want to just team up with people they know, if not, this mp section of the game is going to be repulsively terrible.

I have been trying the different classes, so far the soldier seems more easier then the others, but i have had so many problems finding players that have more patience then the current ones have, i mean, they were ****ing because i didn't pick my abilities, weapons and stuff within 5 seconds.

I was really hoping to go through the multiplayer first, make sure all the stuff was set before going off into the single player campaign to make sure i have the utmost best outcome possible, but right now, i don't see that as possible.

Valtauran: hi, I tend to find that while experience helps a lot, higher level characters have a much easier time. I guess what I am saying is, I think you're right, Bronze certainly starts off being very hard. It does get easier, somewhat. Couldn't do Bronze with 1 friend even past wave 3, but with 4 of us together we win Bronze 75% of the time now. I will say the brown map seems to be easier. I've played soldier quite a bit, and while it's not as exciting as the other classes, they can dish out quite a bit of damage if you are a good aim. I don't really like the MP that much either, but I can say it gets better once you've levelled and have a few friends around.

Not a great player in general, takes me a while to get used to even the simplest controls.
However liking the challenge, bronze can still be difficult, silver a real fight.
Completed two silvers with a good team, first one was with a level 2 character.
So team work, skill and luck balance is nice.

Do have two issues the one however is only relevant.
Spawn locations on objectives on Silver just throws that balance off.
Fighting your way to them is challenging, having them appear from thin air right on your location when you get there a death trap.
Especially given that the spawns seem unlimited until you actually achieve that goal.

The issue here is that, if the game is properly balanced, it shouldn't be too hard or too easy at the beginning, it should be just right.

The problem is also that i am thinking the difficulty of the mp matches is based on insanity, which in my opinion just made the enemy unrealistically difficult.

Overall, the problem i am getting is that there are too many impatient players that demand 5 seconds wait time, otherwise they just kicking out players, i mean, if you haven't leveled or gained anything new that you want to use, then its fine i guess, but if you have leveled or gained new stuff that you want to lose, you will get kicked.

So, call me crazy, but doesn't it all make sense in canon? And isn't story connection/detraction/lack-of-continuity one of the biggest fears people had going in?

You start out an untrained whelp with a gun. Yeah, it's hard to take on an entire Cerberus battalion all by your lonesome, you not Shepard, your just some dude with a gun and they are a lot more dudes with guns and shields and Atlas mechs and swords.

I have beaten Bronze alone as a lvl 18. Once you get that strong and invest in enough vet packs to where you have powerful weapons, it's entirely possible to beat.

I have beat silver a few times, mostly with fellow high-level players (15+) and while it kept us on our toes for the last three levels, it was far from impossible.

I've made wave five on gold, and if anyone has managed to beat it, my hat is off to them, for they are a better (or at least more persistent) player then I.

Point is, it's hard. Get used to it. learn to enjoy the challenge. Either get better at the game or go play something else, either way, don't ask BioWare to nurf a really well made system so you can feel good about yourselves for beating it.

Aside from the Phantoms and Turrets, I think Bronze is at the right amount of difficulty. I've had some good games and some terrible games (depending on the groups I'm in). Right now I'm at level 19 (almost got screwed out of 80000 exp thanks to EA's dreadful servers) but haven't felt confident enough to try and solo it. What I found though is that I really don't like playing on Firebase Ghost and have only won maybe like 10 games or so on there (it seemed terrible at first but I've been lucky enough to join good groups lately).

Definatly needs a noob level or a easier bronze. For the people complaining about asking for them, just play on silver or gold if things are too easy no need to purposely want to ruin other peoples gaming just because not everyone is as good as you.

I love the difficulty to be perfectly honost, besides; seems a lot of people, at least whom I I've been matched with work really well in a team, granted there have been several lobbies I was in at the time where everyone was off doing their own thing and not worrying about taking the objectives when there's a timer right there on the screen. Tbh though, that's what I think the MP experience will continue to rely in: Good teamwork. If you have good, or even excellent teamwork, most waves will be a breeze (having an Asari Adept on the team helps too :P), have bad teamwork, and the mission will be over before it even begins.

100% definitely, without a doubt. I've not been playing it long, but had a couple of really good matches, and one outstanding one (admittedly, only on bronze, 'cos my engineer's only level 5), where it was me and another low level engineer, after the other two in the team left.

We just seemed to start instinctively covering each other's backs, and made it to wave 8...

...where a bloody phantom took us both out.

Basically, you KNOW when it feels right, and you've got a good team with you.

Finished my first Silver challenge. I'm a level 20 Adept. On wave 6 I thought we weren't going to make it. We had one guy left, and he somehow finished off the rest of the wave (more than 6 enemies). Finally made it to wave 11. It was very tough. I remember on wave 5 or 6, we were sitting there in a corner resurrecting each other one after the other.

My friends (Krogan Soldier, Human Soldier, Human Engineer and myself, an Asari Adept) beat gold tonight for the first time. I thought it was a very invigorating challenge - I realized that THIS is how Mass Effect is supposed to be played.

Every wrong action is met with a consequence, like getting backstabbed by a phantom or stomped by an atlas. Hell, I don't know how many times i yelled "PHANTOM RIGHT FLANK" or "ATLAS 12 O CLOCK!!!"

Stasis works real well, and Biotic Explosions are great against Atlases. Took us 46 minutes, and it was probably better than the final fight against Saren in ME 1

I don't see that many games that can pull off great MP and great Campaign, and I will be playing this for a long time.

Just queued up for a quick match with the difficulty *specifically* set to Bronze. Dumped me into a game w/ 3 other players level 17+ on GOLD difficulty.

This could explain why people see low levels joining up for Gold matches? They may not be doing it out of either ignorance or intent. Seems to be a bug.

I Love the difficulty, we are 3 guys that is now past bronze with more then one class and have gotten to silver wave 7 and it's nice to have something this challanging.
