Can't we just agree that ME2 was the worst in the series.

Man, so many arguments on these forums. I wonder how the moderators put up with everybody with out going insane (I feel for yah, Chris Priestly).

That said I want to provide a little common ground. People disagree on multiplayer, homosexuality, the shooter mechanics, textures, diolauge, gameplay, customization, soundtrack, hell I could go on. But all that said I think we can agree that out of the ME1, MEG, ME2 and ME3, ME2 is and will be the worst, for several reasons.

To name a few:

1. Story was filler.

2. Character backstories where not connected to the main plot in anyway, Dragon Age 2 did a good job at this.

3. Soundtrack was not as good as the previous game.

4. Combat was improved, but not improved enough. Mass Effect 3 has pervected the combat system, though the clunky and sketch gameplay of Mass Effect 1 will always have a place in my heart.

No, because I liked it very, very slightly more than ME1.

So no, we can't.

What? ME2 is one of the best games I've ever played.

Not sure what you're trying to prove here?

Also, how do you know character backstories weren't connected to main plot? Tali, Legion, Mordin all had direct connection to Reaper threat, and Grunt, Miranda, Garrus, etc could all play integral roles in the coming game's plot? So wtf you talking about?

Why would personal side-stories need to connect to the mainstory? It did not worked in DA2 because .. well DA2 sucked. ME2 is the best. I'm out.

The worst I can say about ME2 is that they made me work for Cerberus and killed my Shep. But aside from that it was a pretty well done game imo.

One cannot really discuss the merits of Mass Effect 2's story until Mass Effect 3 is finished.

This, not to mention if you actually read it you can tell what the true motive is.

Edit: The guy says ME2 is worse than Galaxies.  How did no one catch that little indicator?

Gameplay wise I prefer ME2, but it may as well just be entirely pointless given what I've seen of 3.

All that time you spent gathering guys for that mission that lasted about an hour is now useless, because you're getting the old characters back, two of which (Liara and Ash/Kaidan) were ramped up to be such pricks I didn't even really -want- them back.

Can I have my robot instead? While I'm at it, my neat future guns that don't require ammo..sorry, "thermal" packs? And the ability to holster my gun, so I don't have to act like a dork while I'm running around looking for things I missed in an area I cleared ten minutes ago?

ME1 is the worst of the three, IMO. And yes, I am claiming that without having played ME3 yet.

My only gripe was ME2 felt like a 3rd person shooter and its main quest being nothing but recruiting companions with occasional colony saving.

I prefered the RPGing of ME1 so ME3 should be the best allrounder of them all.

Still wouldnt say it was a bad game tho. Hell ME3 may suck from a story point of view, as we know there has yet to be a good Trilogy.

Gathering those allies in ME2 wasn't useless. You got their s*** straight and they're going to help in the impossible fight that is ME3, each in their own way. If you hadn't slapped them onto your ship and smacked their daddy issues into oblivion they'd be in much darker places and far less capable of assisting in the war against the Reapers.

You don't have to fly the B-52 to take part in the nuking of Hiroshima.

Disclaimer: I don't abide by nuclear weapons usage. ;)

Why would you want everyone to agree on something so trivial? It's like making everyone agree that pears are better than apples.

I've experienced plenty of good trilogies. Or are we talking about things from a strictly-gaming POV? In which case I don't know, I haven't played many gaming trilogies really. For what they were going for, the first three MGS games could be grouped into a 'trilogy' and I'd call them 'good'. Same with Dragon Quest IV through VI, commonly regarded as a trilogy in Japan.

ME 2 took the record for most Game of the Year awards ever from Uncharted 2 in 2010 (Although Skyrim may have surpassed ME2) and is one of the few games constantly spinning in my PS3. Honestly, the BSN is ridiculous. The BSN equivelant of a "good" game is an old 8-bit text-based side scrolling RPG that relies exclusively on long, text-based problems for no actual reward or entertainment.

ME2 has better graphics, sound, and gameplay than ME1 so it's better. From the demo ME3 has better graphics, sound, and gameplay than ME2 so the demo is better. I'll have to wait on the story but between the improvements showcased in the demo and the extremely entertaining multiplayer it appears that ME3 will be the best in the series and I don't care what any "long-time faithful" fan has to say.

Nope.avi
mass effect 2 had a great story line
the characters were awsome
the music was great
the combat was an improvement from mass effect 1

so NO we cannot agree that mass effect 2 was the worst in the series
