No. I prefer ME2 over ME1. ME1 ends in a much cooler way, but overall ME2 is better.

Honestly, I think if I had played ME1 first, I don't know that I would've gotten involved in the series, or ever tried ME2. It was all right enough the first time through, but on every replay since, I've found it clunky and tedious (the inventory system, the endless MAKO explorations, the poor cover system, etc.) I'd jump right ahead to the second game, except I like to have a character to transfer over with all the story decisions. But it always surprises me just how better an experience ME2 is every time I continue over from ME1. I just feel the overall experience is cleaner and more enjoyable; whereas I tend to skip cut scenes in ME1, I always take time to enjoy them in ME2 playthroughs.
But I do love the last two hours of ME1. Ilos and the Battle on the Citadel is amazing and is, IMO, the only place where it trumps ME2.
If you disagree, that's perfectly all right. But no subjective statement applies universally.
