Is the Tech sword-like heavy melee better than the Biotics slam? If so what are the pros and cons for both? The biotic seems to throw enemies away from you.

The Asari Biotic heavy Melee is AOE other than that I cant testify to any real differences between tech and biotic heavy melee attacks

Are you referring to Engineers and Adepts or techs/biotics in general?
All I can say is that my asari adept's heavy melee is miles above my human infiltrator's. It does the same damage, but can hit multiple targets and pretty much never, ever misses.

Tech heavy melee is good against one person, but biotic heavy melee pushes people away so that you can finish them off with your biotic attacks at a safe distance.
