I'm just saying BW might not have lied with the whole GB-big patch thingie.
But anyhow. I'm glad that we actually get high-res textures for PC this time arround. Always bugged me a bit about ME1+2 on PC.

so it wont be a seperate pack..and afaik
the game went gold before the demo was released so its already being
copied and shipped to stores? so either the demo textures were a
seperate low res just for the demo, or this is misleading

It is conceivable that they simply didn't include the textures to limit the size of the demo.Jsxdf wrote...

I've already given the reasons why this is not the case. I don't believe the official excuse for a second.

The version of the engine they used doesn't support DX11.FRANCESCO84Inn wrote...

No it didn't. Human Revolution used a heavily modified version of the Tomb Raider: Underworld engine, from memory.FRANCESCO84Inn wrote...

Do you really think an entire team of professional game developers would underestimate how technology has improved?Sarevok Synder wrote...

There has been no official word that we're getting this pack. I think Bioware has underestimated how far technology has moved and how people’s expectations have increased, even since ME2. They simply haven't planed for one.
It was written to use it, what you are essentially asking is for them to re-write the game in order to impliment DX11, the assets themselves have to be edited to become DX11 aware.FRANCESCO84Inn wrote...

The texture was dfinitely there and the issue was that Garrus always had his lowest level of detail texture. There is a simple config tweak that fixes this. You just change the minimum LOD so it's the same value as the maximum.GreenSoda wrote...

This fix uses texmod -just saying. That's really not a road BW could have gone. Texmod switches textures "on the fly". It adds itself as a second layer to the running game and listens for it to call on the texture-file in question -when it does texmod injects the new file instead of the old.
That works fine if it's just one or two textures, but when you actually want to fix many things like clothing or so it really jaggs up the loadtimes and hogs cpu-power.
...that's also the reason why texmod is popular with "those" kind of mods, but is rarely used otherwise. All in all it's a very "hack-ish" approach to the issue and not something a company could release as a "fix" for their own game.
Look, it was a programming glitch, the texture was actually there. There is no way it would take a patch a couple of gigs in size to fix it. All the original texture put together didn't come to much more than that. I'm aware of the issues with texmod.
Now let's get back on topic.
That's their own problem, not bioware's. If they can't handle it then they should just turn down the textures.Balek-Vriege wrote...
I doubt there will be a high res texture pack unless they find some way to exclude it from MP. I know I wouldn't want someone lagging all over the place cause their rig can't handle textures.
