In gold it's definitely a lot harder. You get a stupid amount of Atlases, and swarms of phantoms. Not sure if there even were any other enemies. But if you've got an infiltrator for the atlas and an asari adept for the phantoms you should be able to hold out the 2 minutes in the extraction zone, at least on noveria. Didn't try the other map.

Extraction point in Noveria has more cover, easier to stay in the LZ. In Benning, its more difficult so I hang around in cover around it.
Staying close to your team means an res easily on the other hand.
Yeah the Mars one has pretty weak cover. But it's not that bad. All you guys need to do is keep the right side clear! Left side has considerably less mobs there.

People please be aware that this is a new game with new players who are still getting to know their way around. Also theres a world of difference between absent mindedly wandering slightly out of the circle in the heat of battle to just taking off up the stairs to get more kills. Yes I am speaking from experience.
This game may be new. Common sense, however, is not.

Your point is?
Everyone is new to this game, attleast the MP part, but we can still stay at the extraction point.

A krogan never withdraws.
Problem i have with my krogan is that i forget about my sourrounding if i get in a melee rampage. Bioware did a really good job in giving you the feeling of a raging Krogan. Missed LZ because of this on occasion. Once i nearly forgot to finish a special target during a sidemission because i missed him with the charge and started killing stuff behind him.

Which... I've only made it to extraction once because I'm really not good at this and apparently neither was anyone else...

My point was perfectly clear - its easy when your shooting stuff to wander accidentally outside the circle. This is completely different to those who run the gauntlet of trying to get as many kills as possible and then dash back to the circle - I agree this is annoying.
It would have been nicer if you had to do an actual extraction. Not just be in the zone during the end of the countdown, but have a small amount of time after this ends before (if you will) the ship takes off. In fact, it would be so much better if you actually had to get onto the shuttle and then dust-off before the mission ends. That would have made for far more fun gameplay endings.

Easiest way i experienced up to now is to kill the Atlas at the beginning of the round and then go into LZ. You still have everythig swarming you but without those annoying missiles.

I see, I have no problem if youre 2 cm of the area by accident but when youre out there killing stuff (and maybe dying) without any signs of attemting to get to the extraction. Thats when I get mad at people.Mand0l1n wrote...

It's ok to be outside of the extraction but still near it with the objective of delaying the enemies from swarming the zone. When it reach 15-20secs, then it's time to move there.

The other half are either idiots who don't realize they get more points for full extraction than getting a few extra kills or just the ones who realize that they should be heading back but end up being late. I don't know which one I think is more sad.
Maybe Bioware could put up some kind of tip or mini tutorial system that explains the system a little more. Hopefully something like that is in the retail release?

I feel like half of the people who don't foot it to the extraction point don't know about the partial/full bonus thing. I would know, because I was one of those people when I first started to play. I always wondered about the green checkmark and red names on the score screen. Then one game I noticed I got a bonus for "full extraction". Then the light clicked on.

At around 20 seconds, I pull back. Worked like a charm so far.
