I have the original fat PS3 and the Mass Effect 3 Demo runs perfectly on it. The framerate was a bit slow during the intro cutscene but it was fine after that, and when I played it again the intro cutscene played out fine.

I think the people who are having these severe issues that I see should probably do a defrag of their system (You basically put your PS3 into safe mode, tell it to "Restore file system", and then "Rebuild Databse". I promise it doesn't delete anything important like your saves, etc.). Because at one time in the past, I kept on getting freezing and lag issues with Mass Effect 2, but after doing a defrag of my PS3 it ran even better than before with no more problems with Mass Effect 2.

I'm not kidding. The demo works for me nearly perfectly. And it's been like 4-5 months since I did the "defrag" on my PS3. The steps don't take that long to do, it only takes about or less than 5-6ish minutes. I haven't had any problems besides the aforementioned issue that quickly fixed itself.

Hmmm. But Skyrim plays perfectly fine on my PS3 also. Mind you, I still only have the 1.1 patch installed b/c of all the issues that the patches after that have caused. I have no idea what could be your problem then. Maybe because I have the original fat PS3? Lol.

Because problem starts when save file is 10mb or more.....

And no it's NOT ps3 problem but Bioware's lack of optimisation and support<_<

True. I don't know how many mb my characters use, because I have two separate characters I use. So the saves are probably not over 10mb for me. =P

I apologize for having a working Mass Effect 3 Demo. It worked for me, so I was just trying to help out.

Funny thing - when Skyrim was released and it turned out to be, well, crap in terms of technology, everybody said the same. Defrag, etc and your problems will vanish. They didn't.

Maybe you just don't notice the framerate or maybe 20FPS are good enough for you. My friend also told me that he doesn't notice the framerate problems when I showed him the game on my PS3.

I never said defraging fixed Skyrim. I didn't have a problem with it in the first place. I said it helped fix with Mass Effect 2's problems and I've never encountered any problems with the demo.

I thought that too. I played ME2 again right after playing the ME3 demo and back to ME2, and the framerate of the ME3 demo was just as great as ME2, if not better. Idk. It might just be due to some other factor that ME3 demo runs fine on my system.

Eh, I haven't defragged ever, and it still runs smooth at over 30 FPS. Sometimes it dips, but you don't really notice it unless you're actively looking for it.

The fact that some people consider an average of 20 frames per second, a "smooth as butter" experience, doesnt make the game "working" or "acceptable" by the minimum standards this industry is going by. And 30 fps is the minimum. Some of you are ok with 10 frames per second. Good for you. But allow me to inform you, that you are the minority.

So I hope that it doesnt ruin your Bioware Social Network experience and aesthetics, when you see threads complaining about something that is perfectly natural to do so. You can always stay away from such threads and enjoy your 15-20 frames per second slideshow, while we try and make it better so we can enjoy it as the 360 users do.

Peace out.

Opinion is an opinion. What I don't like is people denying pure numbers provided by the folks at Digital Foundry. Honestly speaking, I can tolerate the 20-ish FPS in the demo (which is difficult to believe after playing Arkham City, which is super-smooth in comparison), but even I got grossed out after being shown the analysis.

If you read my first post, you would know that I initially had terrible frame rate problems for a little just as other people but it quickly went away. I watched an PS3 vs. X360 analysis, and mine is closer to X360... But I do notice now that in the part where you confront the Alliance Council, it starts slowing down a little bit every time for just that specific part. Nevertheless, hopefully all the issues with it is a problem with just the demo or Bioware will come out with a day 1 patch (annoying as that is) that will fix most of the problems. =P

Really thats called Safemode not defrag. Also dont cludder up your hdd with junk ie tons of demos not used music playlist ect I have a 500 gig hdd on my ps3 no issues and time to time i delete my BD Data from watching blue ray movies i noticed it stored data recently But if you dont have your system cludderd up you wouldnt have any problems Keep in mind best to delete game data on games you dont use at all.. You can always reinstall them at a later date

For trying to help someone else out even if it doesn't work? At least he/she is contributing to the forum, trying to help out and not constantly whining about everything like the rest of BSN. Contrary to you. Try acting nice, won't hurt you.

Just one thing I wanna say, you guys do realise that you are only supposed to "Rebuild database" if you have severe issues with your console. It is NOT advised unless you have severe CONSOLE issues.

good now get the hell off this thread because you are offtopic. This is a thread for technical issues and framerate issues on the demo qualify perfectly fine to post here.

Hey.  You.

IGN has the final product.   (Oh, you'll look)

"
It's also worth noting that a few technical issues arise on the PS3 version as soon as you start playing, too. Fairly serious framerate issues plague the opening cinematic on Earth, and while this particular problem clears up as you play further through the game via future cutscenes, these hitches certainly concerned me early on. Likewise, lip-syncing is almost always off and characters sometimes appear stiff and can even flicker in and out of cutscenes when camera angles change.  "

Have you seen my PS3 yourself? Have you seen how my demo operates? No. I apologize for stating the facts, having a mostly working demo, and trying to help out. I just want to help out because I feel slightly bad about having a working demo yet it's messing up for some other people. I don't get where you're going with this, other than being a nuisance and jerk.

^^ the point is that there is only one option possible to explain this:

You are very tolerant when it comes to framerate issues and what is perfectly working according to you.

That is it. You are accepting these framerate issues. That doesnt mean they dont exist. Every Single PS3 out there is the SAME. You dont have a magically powerfull PS3 compared to the rest of the world. You are just way more tolerant than the rest of us when it comes to 20 frames per second performance.

Every single media out there is pointing out that the game suffers from framerate issues. And thats it. Plain and simple.

I will say it again so you maybe emphasize it enough. You dont have a magically tuned up ps3. ( in fact I do have my ps3 tuned up with an SSD drive, and the game still performs choppy).

Valkyre, have you tried decaf?

Seriously, there's no need to get personal on the guy or try to assume what's in his mind as to what he accepts as a good framerate.

Just chill the heck out.
