 Hello

Thank you for reading.

I think the BDA only buffs biotic and tech powers. IIRC, Ammo powers are either treated as combat powers or their own category, and so recieve nothing.

Yes, power damage is supposed to be added into the ammo power multiplier.

Damage = B* (1+ PowerDmgMod1+...)*AmmoDmg*Protection factor

Where B is base weapon damage, the Power Damage modifiers from armor and passive are added up, and then the AmmoDamage is .7 for something like tungsten, and the last is just whether or not the ammo has an effect on the target based on the protection (it is 1 or 0... so for AP ammo it is 1 for armor and health, and 0 for everything else).

Whether or not you will notice it is open to debate.

RedCaesar did a comparison and in that test it was unclear if it was really applied.  According to the devs Power Damage multipliers are supposed to be applied to ammo powers though.

Ah that is interesting.  I think Red was using BDA for the armor test... hmm.

The N7 style armor pieces and your character's passive bonus to "power damage" is supposed to buff ammo powers though.

^I could be wrong. It's been almost 2 years since I paid close attention to the game's finer details.

Most of my genius knowledge is just internalized now, so I couldn't tell you how or why I'm awesome, just that I am. Image IPB

The in-game information on the Blood Dragon Armor just says +15% power damage. I did not find that it increased an ammo power's effectiveness at all. You can see the tests I ran here.

The test began as a topic of conversation in this thread.

Thanks for the answers, Locutus was right, and Caesars videos proves it, no difference between one or another. Well, now i won't be wasting time with it.

Very kind from you to do a video for the community Caesar.

Greetings.

Well it is hard to say because the actual damage output difference even if it is applied is only a few points.

No it's not.

Weapon:

All ammo powers are in their own power category, so they don't get bonuses from + Tech or Biotic upgrades.

Your quote deals specifically with Tech and Biotic power upgrades from the research terminal.  That is what they were referring to there.  When they discuss ammo powers they say this:

Ammo Powers benefit from + Power Damage bonuses, such as the +15% power
damage from the Blood Dragon armor. However, they do not get benefits
from + Biotic or Tech bonuses or any other bonuses specific to certain
types of powers. Only the caster's power damage bonuses apply to the
power. This means that when you cast a squad ammo power, the player's
damage bonuses get applied to the ammo power on the henchmen, but not
the henchmen power damage bonuses. This matters for henchmen like Garrus
who has a passive power damage bonus. Similarly, when henchmen cast
squad ammo powers on you, your damage bonuses do not apply.
