I thought that Multiplayer was only co-op play - no PVP?

Will the experience you gain in the demo carry over to the full game?

So is 120 going to be the level cap? It didn't take to many matches to get there. Also I think there should be some added medals such as 100+ kills, 30+ melees, 100+ headshots. Also I think extraction for higher challenges should be worth more than 1500 instead of them all being the same. Is there going to be a higher level than gold like Platinum or onyx for another challenge and possibly medals as well? I had another question is to why are people getting ranked higher after you have already maxed out your level cap. I was recently ranked #5 in the USA and #15 Global. Now I'm ranked #20 and #41. Why is that since those other players are just now getting to the 120 level cap getting placed ahead of me?

Is the rating system really just a ranking by level system? What is the point of showing that info?

What's wrong with PvP? Scared to take on something smarter than a bot?

Nope, I actually do quite good in most PvP multi games, I
just find they get extremely boring and idiotic fast.

Don’t worry though, I’m sure you’ll get your wish. Bioware
is now owned by EA after all(aka; the destroyer of games) and their new little
rule is that every game MUST have multiplayer.

So theres that, its just PvP is the exact
opposite of what most Bioware’s games are all about. Their games are all about
Single Player, the story, the characters, etc, multiplayer is just an
afterthought. Since ME3 already has enough on its plate as it is with the epic
story mode and the co-op multi mode, the last thing it needs is yet another multi
mode taking away even more time/resources. It also, like many here are saying,
wouldn’t work well/make sense with the Galaxy at War system.

Besides, you’d want it to be good right? I’m not completely
against the idea but unless Bioware made a PvP game/PvP dlc mode without
watering down both itself and the main mode, it’d be a waste. Just look at
how “well” multi did in other SP driven games. Dead Space, Bioshock, F.E.A.R,
the multiplayer tacked to those games barely lasted a month, and the SP
suffered from it. (Sad really, a few of those multi’s could have been something
great).  ME3’s co-op really isn’t as bad
since A. Its Co-Op. Most Co-Op’s, especially the “horde mode” isnt too different
from SP and is pretty straightforward.  B.
it had a separate team entirely to work on it, although it still did some
hampering to the SP portion. This is also the last game of a major trilogy so it
is not certain the same kind of treatment will be given to any other game they decide
to attach multi to.

If they decide to make a game focused on multiplayer later
on, thats 100% fine by me, in fact I welcome it the opportunity.

But to slap it onto one of their games “just because”, and
take away potential content/polishing from the mode that matters, all for some some
half-assed multi no one will play later anyways? No thanks.

The co-op actually affects your galaxy readiness scale in the campaign, so yea it does have to do with the story. It's depicting the "stories" of the special ops taking key positions. If it where pvp it wouldn't make any sense with the story and the galaxy readiness in the campaign. Yea pvp would just ruin the story.

BioWare's games are all about the single player. Which is exactly why The Old Republic was made. Because it's single player.

Got it.

First, I just want to let BioWare know how impressed I am with the multiplayer. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much of anything, but I decided to try it out and before I knew it I had been playing for a straight EIGHT HOURS! The only things I didn't like were that we aren't allowed to choose which gender is unlocked to begin with (luckily, my infiltrator had female unlocked, soldier and engineer are the only other classes I liked playing and they were both male) and that there is no chat in the lobby to help coordinate our classes and set up a strategy before a match.

I've been reading the discussions here about PvP and there are some points about it to consider.
1- Why does it HAVE to make sense? It's true that the co-op mode fits into the concept of the story, but they could have easily not considered going that route and it would still be extremely fun.
2- Someone mentioned a bunch of biotic powers that could "break" PvP. Do keep in mind that players have shields and shields do block biotic powers. Yes, you can take down their shields, but, honestly, who is stupid enough to stand out in the open and do nothing while their shields fall?
3- This is BioWare. They aren't going to screw up one of their best games. Go ahead and be skeptical about PvP, but don't outright say it's a bad idea. Tons of people did that for ME3 having multiplayer at all and look how wrong they were.
4- Most important of all, it's MASS EFFECT! Pitting Shepard against Shepard is like Chuck Norris versus Bruce Lee! No matter which way you slice it, it's pure AWESOME!

Downloading the demo now, will ruin tomorrow playing and playing. So Bioware...please be careful with the code. Cheats all but ruined Crysis MP. I'd LOVE a game that doesn't include ANY cheat codes at all (remove them from the game when you release it).

I doubt it. But if there were PvP, soon there would be hacks and "portal traps" and pk'ers whose only mission in life is to cheat and ruin other peoples' fun. Plus it can't be properly balanced, imho.

(And let us know how many Gold league missions you completed, against dumb bots)

Yup.  I frickin' HATE cheats and those who use them.  Totally ruins games and once they are out there, it makes MP games all but impossible to enjoy.

I find that the Phantoms aren't that difficult to beat as a Human Adept. That the proper combination of a few Warp, a Singularity, and a liberal application of either assault rifle or SMG fire allows one to be taken down in seconds.

But then again that's just my preference. There are many ways to approach the same situation.

Stasis with an Adept
Energy Drain and Overload from an Infiltrator and Engineer
Then a Sniper Rifle headshot.

That's how we usally deal with them.

Turian sentinels can usually one shot their barriers with a well leveled overload, leaving them open for a good shotgun blast.

Well, seeing as how the unlocks are so random... I haven't had the pleasure of unlocking any turians or krogan. :(

No. The three systems are on completely different networks. If it were possible at all, we'd see a lot more games that could do it.

multiplayer demo has too many problems: keeps loading forever, doesn´t start the count down dispite the four players are ready, loses conection all the time... Will these problems get solved for the real game? because it´s quite anoying having to try 8 times to run a single match...

That's probably your Internet connection or your computer. I haven't had any of those problems.

So sick of the randomness of the unlocks...

I still have yet to get a single Turian, Krogan, or Asari character and still haven't unlocked the Widow or Locust.

I got a Krogan Soldier right off the bat during that thing that says "Hey, here's some credits, use 'em." I thought it was scripted, but I guess it was just luck. I've spent probably around 300,000 more and haven't unlocked any other characters and only three weapons (Phalanx, Tempest, and a shotgun). I'm hoping that in the full game there will be a third (at least) tier of packs that has a better chance for character unlocks.

Will my level from the Multiplayer demo be transferred to the actual game? I mean I'm using my origin or EA account to go online anyway.

Thank You Bioware for actually making a diverse game. I can make my self me, a black shepard...well Creole. But I am now look black. Only thing I really ask for is more creation features(like more indepht and more eye shapes) and hair styles(like the deafualt Sheapard's and Pooch Hall's hair style and Hosea Chanchez)
