I was playing Mass Effect 2 recently, Spacer history because it concerns that, and I was walking around Omega buying things when I heard a catch of an news announcement in the background. Not sure if the Admiral was actually there btw, I think I head it. It's broken up because I don't remember the whole thing.

"-Admiral Anne Shepard did... today... honor the legacy of her child."

Okay, does that mean that this Anne could be Shepards mother? Bioware has never said whether or not Shepard's parents are still alive (which in hindsight SHOULD be in the ME games at some point), and Shepard himself never mentions them, or he does, but only off-hand.

What do you guys think about this? It was in the beginning of the game to, first landing on Omega, when I heard it. There's a possibility it could be something along these lines for the specific reason that Shep's mother wouldn't have heard about Shepards return yet.

It's actually Hannah Shepard, yes, she is Shep's mom if you have the spacer background. There is even a small sidequest in ME1.
