Immersion breaking.
... In the demo I was quite distracted by how silly it looked holding the weapon at arms length.
... When sprinting it was even more ridiculous.
So, yes ... immersion breaking.

FYI - I will decide for myself what I will/will not pay for.
You may call me every name in the book ...
... but if I think BW is stepping backwards on this,
... then I start thinking - What else have they moved backwards on?

Too many games have produced sequels where I wish I had cancelled my preorder.
... After playing the demo, I think this is another mistake.
... It felt like a console port of an FPS not a BW RPG.

Also:
This is a trilogy.
... The more gameplay they change from 1 to 2 to 3,
... The more difficult it is to play the trilogy through from beginning to end.
It is already quite the adjustment moving from ME1 to ME2.
... I noticed the same problem ME2 to ME3demo.
I can't imagine how awkward ME3fullgame to ME1 will be for players.
It might be presumed they want you playing multiplayer rather than their trilogy.

So,
... This, along with the Origin requirement, increased blood/gore, etc,
... ... leaves me less than excited about a game
... ... I had been looking forward to playing.

note:

 Plyed the demo through again tonight, while there was no action, I took a look at my squadmates, and sometimes they kept their guns up at arms leangth, and sometimes they had them down, but not holstered. Similar to what Shepard does when he is facing a wall, the gun lowers but not holsterd. Dont see why we cant at least have this animation be keyed into the selct key, runing with your gun lowered but not holstered would be a great improvment on what we have, or rather dont have now.

Also, I noticed some things that really just looked terrible, when Shepard climbs a ladder now, the gun does not get holstered, it just magically goes away, then when your up the ladder, it seems that it is just in his hands now. This is verry ugly.

And I had a discussion with my friedns, who have at this point canceled their pre order. They had a theroy that another reason why holstering was taken out, was becasue of the omni blade, something they feel is useless to them, they were happy with hittin people with the butt of their rifle, and rarley did they move in for close quarters combat. One mentioned the animations, specifically the running, seemd like it was just poorley done. My other friedn didnt mind the running, as it looks better when your in full armor. They plan on picking it up used in a month or so, or playing on my console.

Seems to me that it woudl be an easy fix to map the select button, which was used to holster your weapon, to lower the weapon, an animation that is already present. When the wepaon is lowered, the camera frees up and allows you to look around. This is mentioend in another post somewhere, I think this is a good idea and owuld make a lot of people happy.

To end my thought, my squadmates look like idiots when standing next to each other with their weapons drawn, they look like they are in the middle of a dance move or something.

Its whatever to me, its not immersion breaking or deal breaking.

The things some people are saying they would miss might be considered immersion breaking to others. Biggest complaint im seeing is that you can free camera pretty screen caps in combat zones therefore immersion is broken, idk bout you but stopping to smell roses and look at sun sets and grass while the galaxy burns is immersion breaking to me.

but to each his own.
