Anyone else get this error message?

After digging around I found the "universal key" 3FLL-43UU-JTN8-W8EX-25J3

When I entered it, an error messag was spit out, saying that too many machines have installed this key, purchase a new one.

Bwah!!!

Okay, I contacted chat support (I had to lie and say I wanted support for ME3, as chat support wasn't open for ME1, tee-hee)
I told him about the "too many machines" issue, and my agent was able to somehow (magically!?) able to re-validate the key.

So there you have it. The "universal code" works again =)

If anyone else encounters the "too many manchines" error, just contact chat support like I did.

Unfortunately this seems to stay 'solved' for a short time.

Same as Sepienter. Having the same issue and asked a EA representative to give me additional installs, but so far nothing :/

I just got it to work. After several attempts yesterday and getting the "too many manchines" error, I just tried it again after I got home from work and it installed fine this time.

Getting that error message myself. At least now I know about that universal key, I didn't know about it until today.

Edit: Well, tried again and it worked... Anyway, I'd remove the "SOLVED" part from the topic title.

thanks for posting this man, couldnt even figure out how to contact EA without that little trick of going to ME3 support. spent hours trying to get this done on my own, tried your method, and got it working in about 20 minutes, including wait time for rep. since this post is 5 months old, sought to let people know this still works. this topic deserves a sticky.

The key is not working for me. I spent the last 30 min trying to make it work then I found this thread. Really EA we need to contact support every time we want to install ME 1 dlc?

Of particular note, this code has a certain amount of activations. Therefore, if you receive an activation limit error message, Contact Us at http://help.ea.com. Explain you followed the FAQ to download and install BDtS and need the activation limit increased. The agent will be able to activate the game and get you sorted.

Bumps to keep up top - Thanks for the help, I was wondering about this myself. Maybe EA/Bioware can add the CD key and a free download to our offical registered games list? This might help show that we own the game and the dlc so we don't have to keep reentering a CD key and call them everytime we reinstall the game.
