Okay, I contacted chat support (I had to lie and say I wanted support for ME3, as chat support wasn't open for ME1, tee-hee)
I told him about the "too many machines" issue, and my agent was able to somehow (magically!?) able to re-validate the key.
Ni****hesh: Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Ni****hesh how may I help you?
you: I am trying to install the "Bring down the sky" DLC for Mass Effect 1, but I need a CD key. I read on the forums that I could get one from EA support
you: Hello?
Ni****hesh: I really apologize for delay in my response.
Ni****hesh: Please give me a moment.
you: No problem =)
Ni****hesh: Here is the link to download the game from -
Ni****hesh:
http://files.bioware...t_BDtS_ES_a.exe Ni****hesh: Code - 3FLL-43UU-JTN8-W8EX-25J3
you: Oh actually that is the universal key, that key does not work any more
you: it has been installed on too many machines, I tried it before =(
you: "For security reasons, only a limited number of machines can ever be licensed by a single purchase. This limit has been reached. Please purchase another registration code, reinstall, and then try again."
Ni****hesh: I can resolve it. Just a moment.
Ni****hesh: Please try the key now.
you: It worked! Thank you very much
you: I will post on the forums and let others know.
So there you have it. The "universal code" works again =)
If anyone else encounters the "too many manchines" error, just contact chat support like I did.
