"Connection to the game has been lost"

 When tryin to find a multiplayer match using the quickmatch option it will search for games but later say "your connection to the game has been lost." Can anybody shed some light on this for me? At the menu it says I'm connected to the servers, and I've played the multiplayer portion before since I had early access but now it's not working :/ I can play a match if I create one but I don't think anyone can join. And I can't join anyone's match either. Please help, I've tryin to fix this for over an hour. And I've tried wired and wireless connection hoping it would help but it hasn't

same here... just started playing an hour ago, getting that message since my 4th game (about 15min ago) when i spawned on the map and couldn't move (yet i could see everyone shooting and i could shoot as well, but the HUD didn't load).

Probably due to the rush of new players. Demo is FFA now, so expect more lag.

Hmm... Well I haven't been able to try it out lately so hopefully it's been fixed. But I would not have been able to even get into a game. It would say I lost connection and if I press a then it would show the controller loading screen and send me back to the multiplayer menu where it shows your character, the store, quick match, etc. I'll get on around noon or so tomorrow and find out. US central. But hopefully it's a server issue like nekoninja said and just too many new players

Edit** guess that would be noon today.. Stayin up way too late

Same for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.
Wasn't like that before. It started today.

Same problem here, tough I did get into couple of matches just, but after that its just waiting.

Yeah, I have been having these problems since the Multiplayer early access. It is kind of starting to ruin it. :/

We're aware that this problem sometimes occurs. It occurs because our quick matching solution finds a match for you to join but then you fail to make a connection to the host of the game (this can occur for several reasons).

We're investigating potential ways to mitigate the problem.
For now, if you keep trying, you should get into a game.

so uhhhhhhhhhhhh that's been taken care of but sometimes i crash RIGHT AFTER we lose/finish the mission... if that happens EVERYTHING i've done is reduced to nothing... when i say that i mean like all my exp and money i got is gone... is this a problem on my hardware? or are other people experiencing something liek that too

I'm still having the same problem quite often, I've tried to get in a match 20+ times without any results. I have been able to get into like one or two games after that, then the problem happened again. 

Would you be able to list the reasons why? Are the problems on our end such as our connection or hardware and is there anything we could do to lessen the frequency that we experience losing the connection to the host?



I'd also like to note that while quick match is searching for a game I can hear players talking but then after a few seconds the lost connection notification appears

Same problem. Dozens of games end in either:

1.No countdown even though everyone has readied up then they kick me, even though on my screen Im ready, have a green tick and it says 'waiting for game to start' at the top.
2. Game goes to loading / communicating screen after start countdown then gets stuck there until eventually a connection has been lost message appears.
3. Game gets as far as the map but the interface doesnt load and instead theres just a 'Please Wait' message with B to cancel which exits the map. Waiting never ends.

The above happens over and over. Thing is I can search for a team, find a team and hear what theyre saying all via Quick Match but I just cant join a game as the servers seem to be unable to register my ready up status or join me to the other players.

The only time it works is when I end up as the leader, then theres absolutely no problems at all.

Eventually, if you keep trying dozens of times until you are the leader. At the moment its taking roughly 30 mins of trying for every 20 mins of gameplay, kinda crazy and really starting to ruin the enjoyment of the mp. Also I'm letting a lot of 4 man teams down when I never show up in the actual game and they have to fight with only 3 team members.

I haven't been able to connect to MP since 17 Feb, and even then only for 15 minutes before my connection was lost. I either get the "Unable to connect to EA servers" message or simply get kicked out of xbox Live and have to start over. I Live in Austin, TX, have a Time Warner broadband connection, and have tried to connect at all hours of the day and night for the last 5 days through my xbox360, to no avail. My buddy down the street has ATT Uverse and is not having any problems. I am able to play other online games and access xbox apps, so I do not believe the problem is my connection or hardware.

its annoying when your connection goes on the loading screen, 2 options wait untill game kicks you out or restart your console either way its very time consuming

I had that last night several times too. No way around it so far.
It looks like its based on luck.
I made sure nothing else is occupying my broadband which is very stable.
After a dozens messages of connection lost or the dead end where the level is supposed to load it finally worked for a couple of online games.

Right now the matchmaking issues are my biggest gripe. It can take quite awhile to actually get into a game bewteen connection issues, leaders who drop and getting dumped into matches with you and one other person for a long, long time.

I'm not sure about you guys but the server maintenance on the 22nd seems to have fixed my personal connection issue so far so thank you bioware. And hopefully the maintenance for the 23rd will just continue to make it even better :) happy gaming everyone

I have been trying to get into the multiplayer section since i heard about the multiplayer demo, i finally managed to get in today but after a while it gave me the connection to the game has been lost message, and now i cant get back in, i have been trying for 20 minutes. And last night i tried and the game refused to connect to the network, some kind of error but it didnt say what the error was.

this may be unrelated, but I am also getting annoyed because every time i load ME2 it says it has an error connecting to the servers, but after entering my details and password it logs me in as if there isnt a problem.


Do forgive me, i only just saw this was for the 360 version discussion

A thread 'Created 8 months ago'.....& I still get this message on a regular basis....sometimes mid-game resulting in losing single use items......e-mailed EA just to ask what kind of compensation they give if I would have spent XBox points (which is clearly a horrible idea anyways).....6 weeks later & still no response. I still love Bioware for the free M/P add-ons....but EA really needs to beef up the customer care or change their name to Zynga.

 Trying to 'duo' Reapers, Rio, Gold, with my son. Disconnected during wave 2. (Lost level 3 gear)
Reconnect and try again: disconnected during wave 7. (Lost another set of level 3 gear)
Cannot try again: no longer have appropriate gear
Please FIX this issue.

I posted this in another thread, but for me it's not an issue of joining games, but that the majority of games I play I get disconnected anywhere from halfway through to Wave 11.

I played 6 games back to back and got disconnected from 4 of them. I have a 70 mb/s wired connection so I know it's not a problem on my end. This is quite honestly making MP unplayable for me.
