Wow, I guess Bioware knows their audience after all.
This horrifies me.
Why? The music was perfect, the setting was perfect. It all fit together to make a nice scene.

I love the music too, I imagine this kid scene will be nothing compared to others later on in the game.

I'm one of the softest people around and it had zero impact on me at all. What's so special about him as opposed to all the others fighting and dying, men women and children.
I could see it being powerful if you had encountered the kid throughout the game and had an actual attachment to him somehow, but instead it was a kid saying something that makes no sense to someone who clearly could have helped and then running off. He says Shepherd, the soldier (or whatever) can't help him, and then runs off to some other soldiers to get help? Eurgh.
I'd have been more affected by seeing a dog laying next to it's dead owner, whimpering and nuzzling him trying to bring him back to life that to what was given in the demo.

I'm genuinely surprised anyone was effected by it.

Yea, for me it was the lines he spoke that killed it for me. The music for both scenes was nice, but that's about all I can say about the scenes.

I do get quite emotional seeing it, but it is largly to do with the music. ME3's music is above and beyond what I have expected. I'm actually looking forward to playing the game JUST to hear the music!
Edit: this is all slightly off topic, sorry!!

And Shepard looked like Vin Diesel to me.

Only part that came close was when the Normandy was flying through the atmosphere and I thought "wow, that is a lot of Reapers."

Yeah, okay... now that would have me blubbering alright. Especially if you see one of those batarian husks moving towards the dog and your standing on the Normandy knowing you can't stop it.

The scene needs more subtlety because right now it feels like a bad commercial that want me to donate money.

I got slight shivers from the kid scene, but that part still felt half-assed for me

So now I have played the Demo 3 times (trying to get used to new mechanics)...I still get a cold shiver and goose bumbs as Shep watches that boy climb aboard the shuttle and then the shuttle being destroyed...I'm not prone to tears but I am wondering now if BW is going to slip a number of these kinds of moments into ME3...if so I think I will be playing with tear blurred vision...I think its a good thing adding these emotional elements, but yeh, I really felt that kid....Anybody else feel it?
have not played the Demo yet but from what I seen with Mansell piano piece its very impactful. The music said with a untone of hope because Mansell always does a subtely Crescendo , so it get the yeah this moment is tragic but Shepard is coming back and this far from over.

People don't like it, because they are completely overjudging everything.RiouHotaru wrote...

I can picture some here sitting in front of their monitor like "ewww that was a lame one-liner!" "Is that really a bugged shadow on his nose?" "Did Wrex really say that? Totally unfitting!" "Awww that was so predictable to happen!".
Some just can't simply enjoy a game and shut up about everyting that's just a little off.

The thing is though that when there are as many small things that feel "off" in the game it takes you out of the moment.
Your "shut up and eat" mindset would be valid if we got the game for free, but if I have to buy it we have to take things like this into consideration.
I at least won't blindly buy this without seeing if it's actually good.

I was just talking about the judgement of the demo. It seems like some people are so picky searching for stuff that is off, that they don't even try to enjoy it. They are just too busy searching for mistakes they can complain about.Freakiq wrote...
