Do you know what that implies for you or are you just parroting?

They slap more story on it to camouflage the mediocre gameplay. If only they would pay more attention to gameplay it'd be golden.
Before you start a rampage. Gameplay compared to other games out there.

Halo clone? LMAO. FPS and TPS are very different but you have to play shooters to know that and too many here are far to advanced in intelligence to do so.
There is a difference between FPS and TPS that I know, but i am talking about the first Halo game when compared to Mass effect 3. And by that comparison Mass Effect 3 is more similiar to a Shooter than a RPG.
Mass effect 1 has alot of travels, you actually move on the surface of the planet, collect items ( min and maxing ) and inventory sorting and gear collecting and alot of utilization of biotic skills that was unique and different. BTW you also get mobs that you seek out to kill just because you found them.
Mass effect 2 has no inventory, you can't change your weapons as you get them, nor can you change your gear as you get them, no more traveling on the surface of an planet, now you get mission hubs that you are dropped into and fight in, no more adventure, just lots of action.
Mass effect 3 , althought its only the demo so its missing alot of the story and gameplay, but it will never go back to the RPG roots, because too many shooter players find them boring. ( rpg players love it but its no longer their market)
All you have to ask yourself is do you actually spend your time doing all those planet scannings and getting all the top materials and finding everything you can find or always wanting to go back into the action and start shooting the heads off the enemy. In my opinion, thats where the gamer crowd differs.
But regardless of what happens, Mass Effect 3 will still be extremely successful, because shooter players will buy it because its something different than COD or BF3, and RPG players will still play it for the completion of their shepard's story.
So Bioware is using their IP to the max, and marketing it to the Shooter Crowd, because they know that they can't lose the RPG crowd.

Parroting?
What does it mean for me....it means that I can take time away from a very stressful life and escape into the FANTASY of a game. I don't need perfection, I will leave that for you to find, hope you are having fun with that.

You be so silly. Story > Gameplay for MEs. It feels better than ME2, they should focus on story more. If that's not what you like, then there's games like BF3 and Modern Warfare for ya.

If you don't want to read other peoples' opinions just ignore them and go your way or refure them with valid points.
The dumbest gamers are always the loudest. Proven fact. If you don't agree with everything that they're saying or happen to dislike something that they approve of.................it's like Chernobyl in their brains.
When hearing differing views or opinions, they become personally offended, react with extremes. Yelling, insulting, implying that their views are not only superior, but that any views counter to them don't merit anyone's attention.
Because such individuals often lack the ability to defend their own views intelligently, this of course produces personal attacks, rants, or insisting that people NOT say anything counter to their arguments and positions. In other words, Shut Up.
Their behavior during any multiplayer game experience can be spotted very easily no matter what game it is. They're the first ones out the gate, lacking any patience, or even any personal direction. They simply can't run fast enough to their own deaths. They are the first ones to quit or grieve others when things aren't going their way.
The truth is that despite their ramblings (even about games they proclaim to be "the greatest"), they aren't very happy gamers at all. At best they are miserable, at war with themselves and their own stupidity. They are an exercise in egotism and mania, indeed a ridiculous state that borders on dillusional derangement.
So whenever any of them tells you to shut up, or not to share your opinion...............understand just what it is that you're dealing with.

You don't want better gameplay along the story? (which was my point). You make it sound like they have to focus on one aspect only.
And for you more story may sound wonderful. Doesn't mean it does for everyone else.

Plus the multiplayer promises to be one of the best things this year. I can't get enough of it with the Demo. Gameplay is awesome. Team play even better, when you have a good team!

OP is completely ridiculous and borderline idiotic. For starters, you don't market your game to long term fans, that's just stupid and it wastes money. When you go to market a game you try and appeal to the hard sells. People outside of your usual pull range and markets you haven't tapped yet. They know that for long term fans all they have to do is show a trailer, but for other markets you have to go out and try and appeal to different tastes. You want to appeal to shooter fans? Why not attach your game to a popular shooter. Doing so doesn't mean anything else other than them wanting to appeal to that market.
I'll reiterate, when you market something, you don't market it to people you already know are watching closely. You create buzz and get the attention of other people to do other wise wastes money and time. You don't think you can call ME an RPG anymore because you what? Lost a bad inventory system? Take out the copy pasted bland worlds you rove around in? Far be it from me to think ME is an RPG for having deep choices that actually matter in the story. To play a role in a game and be able to level up, customize my build and my character look, decide where I want to go when I want to.egervari wrote...
I never said that they had to copy fallout 3. I just pointed out that if you're going to emulate, like the other person suggested, that doesn't necessarily mean you have to emulate halo or gears of war - there were other options to maintain the style of gameplay that was a lot more predominant in the first game - i.e. the RPG aspects to the game.
They could have evolved the combat to the level of ME2, but never axed the level of customization, the sense of discovery and exploration, and other elements that RPGs typically have. But they did.
And yes, I know ME3 has more customization... but to be honest, it feels a lot more like god of war type of customization... like in an action game... and a lot less like that in an RPG. I don't think you can call Mass Effect an RPG anymore. The elimination of the more open-world gameplay and non-linearity is a huge part of what makes an RPG an RPG, and that's been gone since ME2 and doesn't seem to have returned in ME3.
Hell, even Bioshock is more of an RPG actually compared to Mass Effect these days. I mean, when you really look at the design, I think it's a pretty easy thing to say that Bioshock fulfilless more RPG criteria than Mass Effect... and that's like... wow.
Reading your posts I've come to the conclusion you're a well spoken person who really has no idea what they are talking about. Prove me wrong.
Lawyered.

Then they're playing the wrong game, if more story doesn't sound appealing. I didn't need better gameplay to enjoy ME2, I wouldn't have needed it now.
The MP seems somewhat alright, probably not my cup of tea in the long run, I prefer PVP MP.

Indeed. I was mostly joking anyway.
I've found that it's best to pick my arguments when I have a chance of being heard. But if someone is just telling me to shut up and not ever question the way a game is being developed, then I know that's a discussion not worth having.
