:(Well,  my system is exactly the system referred to in the readme as the recommended system,  same vid card (with latest driver) especially.  The config utility set everything to "high" or "on",  1680X1050 res,  ful screen,  all the bells and whistles. 
Yet,  play is choppy as heck;  it's like a flip- book!  Impossible!  I've manually set the resolution down to 800X600 in stages and cancelled "anti-aliasing",  "motion blur",  and "antistropic filtering",  and still it is unplayable. 

ME2 has everything full on with no probs.

Anyone have any ideas?  TIA

Which card, the 4850 or 9800GT? And what is your exact processor model (go to control panel -> system and security -> system in Win7 or just control panel -> system in earlier windows)

4850 card, and intel core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz, 2394 MHz, 2 cores
4gigs memory

Does your system have both an intel and the 4850 g card? When I first ran the demo on my system it tried to run on my intel, like a complete idiot. I had to manually set it to run using my nVidia and all is good now.


Also: Why did you go with "Will not be buying..." as a title? Do you want to come across as a complete pratt? Just title the thread with what your problem is, you're more likely to get someone with know-how on the subject interested in opening the thread.

No, just the one card. I have acted on all the suggestions given here, but still no joy.

:DWell,  thanks to everyone who was interested in helping out.  This afternoon I completely un-installed the demo,  then reinstalled and everything seems to be working just fine now.  Somewhat surprised because this time around I did not get a "configuration utility."
