I've created a lobby about 10 minutes prior to writing this up. All the slots are "Public Slots" and not once have I had someone even pop in for just a second.
I can invite friends into my game and we can play; but the main problem is when I've only got 1-2 friends online that can play... we can't form up a full squad of 4 because they join my game and then we never get a Public person join.
I'm going to test (when I can) if they can create a lobby, invite me, and then see if people still join once it's 'Un-Private'.
I've done the usual checks on Firewall/Router/Anti-Virus and they've all passed (Trust me, 10+ Years in IT).
Oh, and I can join games and even have them migrated over to me.... just can't start one from scratch. (shrug) I'm usually the guy that hosts for my buds since I've got the highest Bandwidth/PC

Yeah i don't get any publics joining my games either. I can host and invite friends though. It's weird and annoying.,

My friend and I both have this issue as well. We can create games and invite each other, but no public players ever seem to join our (public) games. If we want a full squad of four, we have to join a quick match and follow each other (and hope we do it quickly enough).
My firewall is set to allow the ME3 demo through, and TCP/UDP ports 3659 & 6000 are forwarded.

Same here, I can join friends and they can join me, but quick match never seems to work. Maybe 1 in 50 tries I find a single person. No one else can join though.

I wonder what port Origin uses, it might be a portforward or a firewall issue.

Have had the same issue, when making a room only my friends who click join or people I invite come in. Sat for 30+ minutes last night and didn't once get a random person to find me.

I have ME3 Demo properly port forwarded and open in the firewall. Still not one single public game join. This sounds more like a problem with the searching in the game. Quickmatchers always join with each other, but if they finish a game and have open slots, no one will join because it then becomes a 'created lobby', which apparently the quickmatch never searches for.
I really hope this issue is resolved in the actual game, as it makes trying to play 4 player games with one buddy impossible.

I don't even have joins in a created match either. Quick match though always fills up fast. Is there a reason I am always leader?

Also having this issue. Nobody joins my created game. Friends can join me directly, but it seems my lobby isn't listed for matchmaking.

I've got the same problem. Though it has happened that we have started a game with for example 3 persons and then after the match has started a 4th person suddenly joins the game. But i've never had anyone join a game while we are still in the lobby.

If they fix this, matchmaking would be 10x easier and player would not have to take 5m or 10m to get a match going.

Same problem here, only using quickmatch, and then I'm always leader, I have no firewall or software or anything and have never had port issues with anything else, so I dunno.

Seems like the game engine "prioritises" games wich are already partially full. Noticed a huge difference in empty games where I host the lobby alone and nobody joins. While a lobby with me +1 or 2 friends, it's almost immediately filled up.
Can also be a firewall/port problem or even based by ISP, or all above.

This could be avoided if there where... you know, dedicated servers for the multiplayer,so you can filter up what you want and find the appropriate game easier.
