I'm a Vanguard and when I get the signal to get to Evac, I get my ass over there. When I arrive I stay back and keep Cerberus from getting in the evac area. I only Charge if the enemy is pretty close to us. I never leave the blue area.

Also, I try to make a habit of noticing what enemies my allies are targeting, so I don't Charge their target. It happens on accident occasionally, but I never do it on purpose. No sense in playing hero when the multiplayer is team based...

Vanguards and infiltrators are a good match. Hell, this one game there were two infiltrators and two Vanguards (me being one of them) and those infiltrators took off more heads then I could count. Right when I charge the enemy his head is already popped off my a widow! Gotta give it to those Infiltrators.

On higher levels, I default to a human male Engi with a scoped Carnifex (or a turian Sentinel, same thing) and basically race the team Vanguards to kills. I honestly think it works better than the Infiltrator does.

As to the OP, I don't really have a problem with Vanguards dicking around on the perimeter per se. There's a lot to be said for an active defense of the LZ. Depending on what class I'm playing, I might as well join them. But most of the Vanguards I've played with have been intelligent enough to spend the last thirty to forty-five seconds back at the LZ after having had their fun.

Well I can agree to having an active defense around the LZ but I am a firm believer that come 30-45 sec left on the clock, everyone should be in the LZ giving everything they got to the ever growing horde without leaving the nice blue bubble
