Psh, Vanguards have nothing on Krogran Solders. I run into battle clothes lining and headbutting everything to death... including those pesky Atlas'.

Vanguards would beat a Krogan Soldier every time... but Krogans are a very close second.Image IPB  Krogans can't dodge anything.

Yes.  Yes we are.  I'm so proud!
Seriously, a Vanguard carring a shotgun and nothing else only dies when they can't find something to charge, or when something moves and they accidently charge a Fracking turrent.

Aye, yesterday I charged into a turret when an infiltrator sniped the phantom I was charging.

Either way, it's fun being an unstoppable Vanguard. Haters gonna hate. :D

Eh, as long as you're satisfied with bronze difficulty, I guess its ok.I'm going for the gold.

Then get a custom group and you don't have to worry about it. Good Vanguard will know when to charge and when not to.

Pfft, who needs to dodge when you can just back-hand the problem across the battlefieild? Also, I think a fully leveled Krogan Heavy melee does more damage than a fully leveled Biotic Charge.

I've played with a bunch of Vanguards, and most of them just didn't seem to understand that they were part of a team, they were darting around getting in everyone's way and one guy lost us the entire thing because he was focusing on killing enemies and not finishing the objective.

Though I've also had some really great Vanguards that pulled my ass out of the fire a few times - I guess it depends on the person.

I dart all over the place too, but I'm drawing enemy fire away from my teammates, thinning enemy ranks, and clearing paths to the objective.  When my non-vanguard teammates get themselves knocked out behing a wall of enemies (seriously, what the hell would any other class be doing there?!), my vanguard is the only one that get there to revive them in time.

Who are these other "vanguards" that are giving my class a bad name  <_<  I'll nova their asses.

These Vanguards like darting in front of peoples' scopes or chasing enemies instead of reviving allies and crap - not fun.

Can't backhand or heavy melee when you're in a Vanguard induced stun lock.

Not everyone plays the class like total morron. But hey, I do charge at enemies even when my allies are shooting at them. I even concusion shot enemies down when they are doing it as a soldier.
You just have to deal with it.

But please, when we are trying to evac in wave 11, please dont go charging every which way... Its kinda annoying having to risk lowering the reward myself trying to rez you when you get over your head with 20 sec left on the clock... I think we get a full 10k exp if we all evac.

I...I can't believe what I'm hearing. You'd wish to hinder the will of a hero? To restrict a man or woman of honor from boldy charging in to meet the enemy face to face on the field of glorious battle? My friend, you must understand; this thing we Vanguards do, it isn't a choice. When the spirit takes us, we have no choice but to be what we are. "And what are you" Some might ask, and fairly too. Well I'll tell you what we are. We are the people that refuse to flee from a good fight; we are the warriors that would rather use our bare hands than a fire arm; we are the bold. So I'd ask that you not attempt to hinder what may not seem to make sense, embrace it! Yes! When your Vanguad brothers charge into furious glory, join them! And you too will feel the joy that comes with throwing away apprehension and doing what feels right!

Tear in eye...

It does do a lot of damage... but only if it hits you.  A Krogan can't comletely control where he goes with his heavy melee and he mandatorily moves forward too much, too slowly for the Vanguard to have any trouble dodging or charging it.

No no no! That's not how you're supposed to fight Guardians at all! If a guardian attacks you, you charge away, wait for it to attack someone else, and then charge it from the side!

The only real threat to a Vanguard (besides opponenets he can't target) are the turrets.

Shockwave---rapid fire----Shockwave----rapid fire---Shockwave

That's the formula for beating a Guardian head on... rather easily.

Bottom line. Vanguards = destroyers in bronze in high levels. Gold & silver = Good luck killing anything without using guerrilla tactics.
It's balanced rather well. If you guys don't want to have people taking all your kills in bronze, get better and up the difficulty, they will be downed in the higher difficulties and you can point and laugh.

I second this.  Very well said, and those that are thinking Vanguards are useless party wipers... You just need to see a good one in action.  On Silver difficulty, I was playing a vanguard and my buddy an engineer and we went Atlas hunting.  Charging and spraying the Atlas in the face, keeping it's attention on me while my buddy took it out from behind.  It's almost laughable how effective that tactic worked for us, though I will admit it's best when there's only one Atlas in the area.  Two or more, and that tactic will not serve you well.

Vanguard duos are killer. Was storming around in bronze in a two-person party yesterday, both mid-teens level Vanguards. Dear lord that was fun.

Anecdotal evidence here, but in a gold match last night we had a vanguard just using a heavy pistol to maximize cooldown rate, let's just say he tanked an Atlus with our team providing support with charge/nova just like it was bronze, although we did have a heavy biotic team though.  Asari and human adept, and myself human sentinel. Pretty much constant biotic explosions. Gotta love that cooldown reset on throw via biotic explosion.

Yea i messed up with my vanguard... opted for half blast and upgraded shockwave too much... bad choice. Even with all the power upgrades it sucked. Couldn't get the 100% boost to armor barriers and shields for nova. I never used her anymore after she didn't have enough punch anymore. Vanguards are quite good at phantoms though. Makes me want that asari vanguard even more. stasis, then charge... biotic explosion... glorious.

For players who are charging head first, may as well get the AoE knock back because you'll die without it and that doesn't help the team out much.
